So.

Here are my questions to the “leadership” that is pushing this. There are only so many ways that you can practice homosexuality, and sodomy is still on the books under the UCMJ. Does this mean the sodomy laws are gone too?

The military is a place for young, healthy, heterosexual, men. I pissed off many in that statement, I know. Well, I'm old for the Army and I'm a cripple, so I too don't belong there anymore. To many in our society, homo's, feminists etc. the Army and Marines are a bastion of the patriarchal society and they wish the affirmation of their beliefs and lifestyle, not really be part of this awesome green machine. to them conquering the Army and Marines means they are now legitimate and equal. That's why you have all of these people drive around with their little equal sign bumper stickers.

In our society everything is explained through the conflict theory and nothing has a reason or purpose for being the way it is. In our society we intentionally make things more gray than they really are in order to obfuscate the situation and be able to take whatever position we want, usually what feels good (hedonism). The gay issue in the DoD is a sad statement because in all reality homosexuals have been allowed to serve for a long time and this isn't about being allowed to serve, but rather them wanting affirmation.

Why homosexuality is an issue in the DoD:

1. HIV is not really detectable for 2 - 26 weeks after exposure. In all fairness, by month three nearly all will be detected. Basically, the antibodies take time to build and you can do a lot of infecting in that time. The primary blood supply of the DoD is the DoD and it's dependents. Condoning this sort of “behavior” is nothing less than adding risk to the formula. There is a reason why as a soldier you put your blood type on your helmet, arm sleeve and it's on your dog tags and ID. Number one cause of death = loss of blood.

2. There is a reason why private Manning is not a name mentioned by the gay community or Obama himself that wants to reap all the benefits from this crusade. Just like ones inability to manage ones finances, control where one puts their sexual organs, an ideological disgruntled employee....... this is a rift, a fault line that is often the cause for people to act in a malicious manner. things like this are the “causes” or the cracks which bad guys exploit to recruit folks that collect for them. being more open will not reduce this threat, no less than DADT where they said the same thing. The issue is in reality that these people have a psychological disorder we today aren't allowed to call such.

3. There are issues with infrastructure and logistics that are created by allowing openly gay personnel. The DoD is a place where you have many jobs lacking any semblance of privacy and it is difficult to create this in austere conditions.

4. Commanders/commands will ultimately be held accountable for the actions of their subordinates which they cannot control 24/7. As with women in combat arms (A very bad idea) you are setting yourself up for problems and then will hang some poor CPT or LTC out to dry when something happens. I as a former CPT am very happy that I won't have to deal with this, just one more thing to worry about, one more thing I can't really control but which could end my career.

5. There is a huge hypocrisy that will now develop within the DoD and specifically the UCMJ. if allowed, they (the civil military leadership pushing this stupidity) would rather not address it, but realistically every homosexual practices sodomy by definition and now what do we do with all this code? If we are not to be hipocrites, we now need to completely overhaul all sorts of other rules that apply to Sexual behaviors and relationships in the DoD.

As it was worked well but obviously didn't allow those like Manning to run around in pumps with a big rainbow sign on post, so they had to push further. Thank goodness for some open minded person like Obama to see their plight!/sarc As it was DADT allowed gays to serve and as long as they stay discreet, there was no issue and the five aforementioned areas of concern are also minimal concerns under DADT. DADT was a compromise where the organizational needs were given some consideration as well as the right of gays of whom some surely do wish to serve and will do so with distinction. The problem is that this obviously didn't go far enough and now the organizational needs are irrelevent.
