Sarah Palin says she's done.
Done with whining about the media, that is.
In an appearance on Fox News, where she serves as a contributor, Palin shrugged off a recent sexual slur directed her way from comedian Bill Maher, saying, "I'm through whining about a liberal press that holds particularly conservative women to a different standard, because it doesn't do any good to whine about it."
"Nobody ever promised life was going to be fair," Palin continued in what appeared to be a departure from her usual pattern of forcefully responding to critics, especially those in the media. "And politics really isn't fair, the scrutiny, the double standards, and all that. I'm dealing with it I guess in a different way than others who want to bring more light to it and demand that Bill Maher apologize."
The comments come a day after the traditionally-liberal National Organization for Women issued a statement condemning Maher for directing the slur toward Palin, saying, "Cut the crap! Stop degrading women with whom you disagree and/or don't like by using female body terms or other gender-associated slurs."
But Palin made clear she is none too welcome of newfound support from NOW, an organization that has long been critical of Palin and her stances on issues like abortion.
"I need NOW's defense like a fish needs a bicycle," the former Alaska governor said.
But she also vowed to be an advocate for other conservative women who come under attack.

Love it Sarah!
“Nobody ever promised life was going to be fair,”
“I need NOW’s defense like a fish needs a bicycle,”
...those 2 quotes right there prove that she’s the one for POTUS 2012 IMO!
She would be a pioneer woman, if there were places to seek. What a woman.
I hope she doesn’t just “accept” the media’s bias and stop responding, like Bush did.
This is what was so refreshing about her is that she took it to them when they “didn’t play fair”.
You don’t whine about it, you ACCUSE.
More of this will be an unstoppable force for her presidential run.
That's good. We don't anymore whiners on TV.
Bush and Rove both said in retrospect it was a big mistake to not have responded in some fashion.
Thank you, Captain(s) Hindsight... ;(
There's a whole lot of Ronaldus Maximus in that lady. Go Sarah!
Too many people riding Sarah's skirt-tails.
You can thank CNN for butchering what she actually meant- I guess you didn’t read her Facebook on this?
There ya go.
Gratuitous headline failure.
CNN conveniently sidesteps the fact that NOW’s statement was nothing more than an excuse to further bash Palin and other conservatives for their pro-life stance. The introductory “scolding” of Maher amounted to a faux charge that the same vitriol is directed at liberal women by the media, which is a load of manure.
Sarah:
You run and pick Herman Cain as your VP and together we will put America back on track.
That figures that they’d misrepresent what she said...
what’s your take?
Try as I might to find something to ever not love about Sarah palin, I can’t. I applaud her over and over. The others tend to make me cringe whenever they open their mouths. (newt, etc.)
I think her timing is perfect on this.
And I think her new attitude is right on the money.
The Left, through any number of surrogates like Maher
and Kathy Griffin, could keep her jumping and distracted for many months to come, and that is their intention.
Every time Sarah responds the impression is created that she’s competing with them for HER place on “the D-List”, of which these two are proud members. She should just quietly let them self-destruct and not give them any more attention-—this whole area is a toxic region of show-biz, and Palin doesn’t belong there. She should also call off her children’s involvement with the spotlight; that’s not doing her any good either.
