A magnitude-6.5 earthquake shook eastern Japan off the quake-ravaged coast on Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported, prompting Japan to issue a tsunami alert.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, but the Japan Meteorological Agency announced that a tsunami of up to 1.6 feet (a half meter) may wash into Miyagi Prefecture.

Those poor people just can’t catch a break. I agree, may it wash away some of the radiation, but I am afraid that it may carry it inland. Prayers, please.

They had a 7.1 earthquake the week before the one that caused the tsunami, maybe they won’t have one.

I saw a report on TV last week that claimed one of the original tsunami’s on March 11th reached 77 feet in height.
Is a wave 1.6 feet in height a problem?

They sure are not getting much of a break. Looks like they are going to be getting hammered for some time until things quite down below.

Yes, the height of the wave isn’t the problem with this one. It’s a question of the amount of incoming water behind it which could do the most damage.

E. I assume you are aware that with FireFox browser one can adjust the font sizes smaller or larger by simply depressing the CNTRL - or + keys. I can enlarge print quite a bit using this feature. Make very large print beyond my needs.
