CNN chief: Obama birth story 'dead'(2009)

CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein told staffers of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" the controversy over President Barack Obama's birth certificate is a "dead story."

Klein wrote in an e-mail to staffers Thursday that CNN researchers had determined Hawaiian officials discarded paper birth documents in 2001. Thus, he said, Obama's long-form birth certificate no longer exists, and a shorter certificate that is public is the official record.

"It seems to definitively answer the question," Klein wrote in the e-mail, first reported by the Web site TVNewser. "Since the show's mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite (sic). And then it seems this story is dead -- because anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef."

Klein said Friday he was not ordering CNN staffers to drop the story and that if developments merited more coverage, it would be pursued, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"When I use the word 'seems,' that's an open invitation to disagree," Klein told the Times.

On his show Thursday, Dobbs mentioned the explanation from Hawaiian officials but then questioned why Obama has not shown a long-form birth certificate, the newspaper said.

This document about a missing child has been available for a long time. Then it became a key element because it had a real COLB from 1991.

It is now ‘protected’ by userid and PW.

Yeah, I call it the "Rubberman" photo. I did a little analysis on that photo. Look at the photo below. You notice the suit of the grandfathers left shoulder isn't creased - indicating that his arm isn't bent. That would put his elbow at about the same place as the red dot. Now the yellow line shows from the shoulder to the elbow and the elbow to the wrist. If you were to straighten out that line, he must be "Rubberman". His arm would go past the left shoulder of the grandmother !!!

he wants to get in the debates and force the other candidates to acknowledge this issue.

He is accomplishing more than that. Various national media folks were told to drop the issue or else. Even Rush abruptly stopped talking about it.

A couple of months ago when Rush brought it up again he prefaced it by saying *he* wasn't bring it up he was just talking about what someone else was saying. Similar story for our local conservative talk show host.

What Trump is doing is providing cover for media folks who were forbidden to mention it.

There was a death listing in the paper of a : Tomlya(sp) Sunahara 1 day old, died August 5, 1961 which of course would mean he was born on August 4, 1961.

If Obama shows a real birth certificate now, it will damage him. There is a US army Lt. Col. in prison for asking Obama to show it and he did not. To show it now would result in it being shoved up Obama's a$$ and show Obama to be a careless, unconscionable, manipulative, deceptive person. (but we already know that)

He's getting backed into a corner where there's no escape. He's damned if he shows it and he's damned if he doesn't. Either way, I'm happy that he and his entire admin is damned.
