They had a visceral dislike for Sarah Palin the second she came on the scene. They don’t like the way she sounds and think like the rest of the mainstream liberal establishment in that they believe she is incapable and silly. I’m pretty sure they both voted for Obama.

They do like Chris Christie and like many who listen to wish we had a voice like him in CA.

Here in central and south Texas and LA we have Walton and Johnson spreading the truth. Thankfully!

From Wikipedia's article on John and Ken:

"The hosts eschew any party labels or loyalties. Mostly fiscally conservative on issues like taxes, they also frequently lean conservative with regard to crime. They are staunch opponents of illegal immigration and government employee labor unions. They support strong sentences for child molesters and murderers, the death penalty, Megan's Law and Jessica's Law. They also oppose driver's licenses for illegal immigrants. They are libertarian in other aspects, such as being pro-choice, supporting gays in the military and gay marriage, opposing the influence of the Religious Right on American politics, opposing the Iraq War, opposing funds for public transportation, and opposing tax increases. "Big government" positions they take include further construction of freeways, funding for embryonic stem cell research, an enhanced federal role in emergency preparedness for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), increased federal law enforcement on the border. They tend to be moderate to liberal on the use of marijuana.

"In the 2006 elections in California, they endorsed six Republicans and one Democrat in statewide races. In 2007, Kobylt appeared at a fundraiser for Republican presidential contender Rudy Giuliani. In 2008, they opposed Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage within California.

"One notable disagreement between the two was in the 2008 presidential election, where Kobylt voted for John McCain while Chiampou voted for Barack Obama. The two then discussed the merits of their candidates and defended their choices. Kobylt spoke about McCain's history of opposing wasteful spending while Chiampou stated how he felt that Obama was best suited to bring meaningful reform after what both agreed was a need to breakaway from the shortcomings of the Bush years."

It seems that Kobylt even supported Rudy Giuliani and Chiampou supported Obama. It's amazing what passes for conservative these days.

Uhhhhh....John.....John Diaz....put down the bong for a second, I got a question for you.

Has either John or Ken ever referred to Nanzi Pelosi or Michelle Ubama or any other female RAT using the vulgar word Bill Maher and Jane Fonda used to refer to Sarah Palin?

Just askin'.

You can’t have that in the liberal hell-hole known as san fransisco.

According to the article they are in Los Angeles. A very different place.

Well, if one of them supported Rudy Giuliani and the other one supported Obama, it makes sense that they would have had a visceral dislike for Sarah Palin.

Yup, they are equal opportunity insulters of all politicians as far as I can see. I would not call them conservatives but I would not call them liberals either but more just sick and tired of all the BS that politicians in general are doing. These guys would be out of a job in a flash if the MSM was actually doing their job and reporting what is actually going on instead of covering for the politicians like they do. John and Ken are one of the few places where you can actually find out what the dirt is here locally.

Really? They used the vulgar euphemisms of female body parts that Bill Maher and Jane Fonda used when talking about Sarah Palin?

If so, then J&K deserve it.

To their credit, they never claimed to be conservative. In fact, they find the term somewhat insulting.

They are brutally honest — with their listeners and themselves.

They tend not to go after politicians personally, unless the actions of the politicians call for it. For example, you won’t hear them call someone “ugly” or go after the sex or even sexual proclivities, unless it is linked to the issue at hand.

In the 10 or 15 years I have been listening to them I have never heard them call any female the names Maher did.

There are rules about what can be said on radio but that doesn’t stop them from being creative about how they show their disgust for any of these so call leaders. Most of who roundly deserve far worse than simple name calling. Although they are not like liberals (Fonda and Maher) in that they don’t just spew out hate simply because someone is a conservative, nor do they sink as low in name calling as these slimes do, so there is a difference. J&K mostly go after people who roundly reserve it and don’t limit it to one side or the other. They also go after general idiots and not just politicians.

They have really highlighted how much illegal aliens are costing the state and how badly the quality of life here has been impacted by them. They bring up the stuff the MSM wouldn’t touch but should which is why they are so popular here. But like I said they are not conservatives so there are things like gun control that they appear to be for, although they usually don’t focus on that as it brings out too many “gun nuts” calling into their show and jamming the lines.

Roger that.

I'm not trying to paint J&K as the equivalent of Bill Maher, I'm trying to portray the author of this piece as a two-faced sack of Biden.

but they have only contempt for sarah palin etc.

That's primarily because they hate social conservatives and Christians.

They routinely mock both groups on air.

They're really big "L" libertarians.

Good on some issues, horrible on others.

I've listened to them for years. They never claim to be conservatives or of any particular party and ideology. Their schtick is a kind of a populist libertarian conservatism.

They're very good at motivating action on important issues like immigration, taxes and corruption where a voice is badly needed in CA.

They cover state and area politics better than anyone in the SoCA market.

Whether they believe it or not, the Republicans in Sacramento fear it.

Fear is good.
