He lamented that we always leave one more war to be fought. And I agree, If we would be willing to win, then we could end wars. Actually you would live in a state of continual war.
Because in every war you can find that you have started the seeds for the next war. And if you fight that war you have started the seeds for the next and if you fight that you have started the seeds for the next...
Patton liked war. So for him this was fine. Not so good for the rest of us.
And of course, he was wrong. Sometimes later wars grow out of former but sometimes they don't.

I disagree. If we would have went to war with Russian at the end of world war 2 we could have prevented a lot of suffering. If we would have went to war with China over Chorea we would have prevented a lot of suffering.

If we would have went to war with China over Chorea Chorea is an abnormal involuntary movement disorder,
one of a group of neurological disorders called dyskinesias.
The term chorea is derived from the Greek word χορεία (=dance),
see choreia (dance)), as the quick movements of the feet
or hands are vaguely comparable to dancing or piano playing.
Why you think we should go to war with China over this eludes me.

And caused a lot of it. And started something else somewhere else. Nothing happens in a vacuum.
For example, now that you have taken over the entire Russias, how do you plan to hold them? How are you going to rebuild? And with whom? You now have a lot more rubble and a lot more dead people. And you will have to start about 5 years later.
Oh and now China is showing it's teeth....
And we did go to war with China over Korea. Maybe not officially but we did. That is why there is a South Korea today.

I almost said Miss France’ Ding Dong English class but that would REALLY date me and the hypersensitives around here might take it personally.
I think you got my point about priorities. We pick nits while the Left picks winning strategies(dirty maybe but generally successful).

It is not about holding. Look at the results of WW2 and Japan. We are strong allies of Japan, but only because we facilitated the war.
