Special meeting with George W. Bush for CenTex Landscapers
KCEN-TV ^ | March 24, 2011 | Matthew LeBlanc

Posted on 03/25/2011 7:49:03 AM PDT by evets

Another tree goes into the ground in Killeen.

It's not uncommon as spring planting season gets into full bloom.

However for Central Texas Lawn Care and Landscaping's Larry and LW Robison, each of the trees they sell are extra special.

Larry said, "These trees...come from President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas."

The former president has a tree farm on his ranch.

All native Texas trees and only three companies in the state can sell them.

LW said, "It's hard to believe that out of three people in the state we're one of them."

And if that isn't special enough...

"My son and I went up [to Bush's Crawford ranch last Friday], we had a meeting with the President for 45 minutes. It was incredible. It was a highlight of my life," Larry said.

That's right, the Robisons got to meet George W Bush while picking up trees at the ranch.

"He just came flying down in that Polaris four wheeler thing with the dogs and 'how's it going' and just went from there," LW said.

About the meeting, Larry adds, "And he said he was GW. He said Hi Larry, Hi LW, I'm GW, and I was speechless, which is hard for me, for about 20 minutes of the 45 minutes."

The Robison's only expected a few minutes with Bush, so it really made an impact that he spent so much time with them.

"If he wasn't president and you never met him before, you wouldn't have known he's president, because he's just a good ol' country boy," LW said.

Hunh. Sounds exactly like something a tool would say.

I wonder what W does all day now. He’s certainly earned a well deserved break. Probably clearing brush, reading, biking...

I sure wish several D former Presidents would take a page out of his book and STFU.

Right off the bat you have to make a nasty comment on a nice story. We need more grown-ups around here...

I was thinking the same thing! If they grow in Texas, they'll probably grow in Sacramento and Elk Grove.

I miss Pres. Bush. You could disagree with some of his policies, but you always knew two things for sure: his love for this country, and his faith in the American people.

Riiight. No one would ever think about illegals when thinking of G.W. Bush and landscapers. Sure. Forgive me, I made the mistake of watching him on C-SPAN (SMU event) last night saying how those who oppose "comprehensive immigration reform" are "xenophobes" and that "hate is not the answer". I thought I was watching a Dick Durbin floor speech.

What tools (rhymes with "fools") could never understand is that a) there is such a thing a legal immigration and when unemployment was hovering near 5% as it was during much of the Bush administration migrant labor was in great demand and b) the green industry is about the last place you're going to get away with employing illegal immigrants.

But tools won't accepth facts.

W fan here, and I’ve finally refined my one Q I’d ask him: Did you let Zero happen so America could learn a valuable lesson?

Having been on this forum for 12 yrs I hardly need a lecture from the likes of you. And are you saying that it is "hard" to hire illegal alien laborers to do landscaping? That is rich!
