Gene Simmons blasts Israel boycotters

Legendary Kiss bassist describes string of musicians who refuse to perform in his homeland as 'fools'. I was born here and I'm proud of it, he adds
Simmons had harsh words for musicians like Elvis Costello and the Pixies who have recently canceled concerts to protest Israel's policies toward the Palestinians. Pink Floyd's Roger Waters has gone further, joining an organized movement dedicated to boycotting Israel and its exports, though he appeared in Israel in 2006.
"The countries they should be boycotting are the same countries that the populations are rebelling," he said. "People long to be free ... And they sure as hell don't want somebody who's a ruler who hasn't been elected by them."

I have no opinion on Gene Simmons’ music, although I appreciate his statement.
However, I am disappointed in Elvis Costello. It’s not because I am a big fan. He’s OK. His wife (Diana Krall) should have chosen better.
Pick me! Pick Me! Pick Me!

I like Simmons as well but I thought Kiss was atrocious. You have to separate the politics from the music although it can be frustrating. For example I'm a big fan of Bonnie Raitt who I think is the best female talent of the last 30 years. She has 10X the talent of Madonna, GaGa, or any of the popular female artists. I absolutely despise the woman's leftist politics. She occasionally injects politics into her show. This is frustrating for me but I've learned to live with it.

“Elvis” Costello doesn’t surprise me — he’s a petty jerk. But Roger Waters? Yeah, he’s a twit, too, but, OY! Guess the brains of the band passed away. “The Final Cut” was the giveaway — it was “Roger Waters backed by Pink Floyd.”

Another AH who thinks he's smarter than what he is. He hasn't done jack for a very long time and his ventures into other forms of music have been embarrassing. You are right, his wife should have chosen better, but I'll wager she's a dim bulb herself. Additionally Krall would not be where she is if she were not very attractive. She's not that strong of a singer. I'm not gonna knock her because she is trying to elevate the music her audience likes. Try Jane Monheit as better substitute.

One of our chapel speakers in middle school said that KISS was an acronym for Knights in Satan’s Service. I think it’s one of those urban legends that gets passed around in the Christian community, but maybe someone knows for sure.

Ask Totie Fields, laughs at the memory - “Is your mother watching this today?”.
Look up Gene Simmons, Totie Fields and Mike Douglas for a funny trip back in time.
Good for you Gene, and good for all of us.
May God bless.

Simmons appears quite Americanized. Isn’t he an American citizen?
