Benghazi rally thanks coalition for air strikes
People in Benghazi have held a rally in support of the allied air campaign against Colonel Gaddafis forces.
Coalition air strikes are credited with stopping an advance by government forces in its tracks, and giving a huge morale boost to the rebels.
Among the crowds were banners expressing thanks in English and French to the countries involved, and plenty of pre-Gaddafi era Libyan flags.
As the UN prepares again to discuss Libya, there were also some words of advice for those who have not backed military action.
Russia and China, better to be with the Libyan people than this tyrant, read on banner.
Reports from New York say the breakaway Libyan delegation at the UN, who backs the rebels, is trying to build a diplomatic network parallel to that of the Gaddafi regime.

And one year from now the same people will once again be screaming “death to the infidels”...
Of course they do. We have picked their side in their civil war.
the MSM have been yet again being their biased selves.
American media have ignored how obama never went to congress thus illegal war.
Obama then stated this is not a war and the media go along with that and ignore how bombs are dropping, innocent people being killed of which they were quick to point out in Iraq, how we have no REAL clue who the rebels are and ignore them shouting allah akbar
and the best one is this is a coalition
what France UK and us, aye that’s a massive one, two other countries ou but wait more countries are against this
we have no business being there and should not be there and this is an illegal war even if oba,ma tells the media not to say war
Maybe this will turn out for the best.
But were we to have gotten involved, it would have been far more productive anc cheaper had we done so intially when the rebels controlled more of Libya.
These people will turn out in mass and scream support for anything as long as you give them a small bag of rice. They will even carry signs in english and don’t give a damn what they say.
Were they yelling yes we can?
Let’s assume these people are on our side, they won’t be the ones in power when the dust settles.
Al-Qaeda is keeping their powder dry, they are waiting for Kadaffy to be out of the picture, before they spring into action.
Arab gratitude is fleeting. In a couple of months they could be incited by the local imams to rally against the Little and Great Satans of Israel and the US.
In 1975, as they triumphantly marched into Phnom Penh, the Khmer Rouge at the outset presented themselves all chirpy and smiling, too. But “it” all hit the fan the next day.
Of course, the Libyan rebels — who want our help taking control there — are acting thankful... for now.
