One source told US officials in 2008 that for young men from Derna, a city east of Benghazi, “resistance against coalition forces in Iraq was an important act of 'jihad' and a last act of defiance against the Gaddafi regime... including the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG),”

So is this who we are protecting?

If not - just WHO ARE we protecting? anyone know?

This did not appear to be a genocide nor a pending genocide - but a CIVIL WAR in a SOVEREIGN country that was threatening no other country and not a threat to us.

With the reasons bummer boy gives for this action, it sets a precedence to bomb the hell out of any country, any time we want.

According to Drudge (radio show) the region in Lybia fighting hardest against Gaddaffi (sp?) is the same region where most of the foreign fighters in Iraq were from and fighting against U.S. Apparently in Lybia, we are aiding the terrorists who fight against us in Iraq, probably Afghanistan.
