The remake is going to be so “hip-hopped” up it will ruin the whole thing. One of the charms of the original was that most of the gang members, other than the Riffs, were white.

Sure, it’s a great story, that’s why you’ll
never see it. It might give Americans the idea
that they can stand up to terrorism and spit in
it’s eye. A movie about leaderless resistance,
about first aid, about common sense combat moves,
the difference between cover and conceilment, etc,
but I doubt it will be made in my lifetime.

Maybe after the lights go out in europe but by then
we’ll be in it up to our necks anyway.

In the original Red Dawn, the Russians, Cubans and Nicaraguans were the enemy. Here’s what I recall being said about the Chinese.

“Who’s on our side?”

“...six hundred million screamin’ Chinese”.

“I thought there were a billion Chinese.”

“There were.”

I hope the movie is a comedy. That’s the only way a film about North Korea invading the US would succeed.

Well, at least they didn’t make them into teabaggers.

Seems there were two movies with similar names made at the same time:
Battle of Los Angeles and Battle: Los Angeles

Battle of Los Angeles and Battle: Los Angeles

I was going to rent it but I don't know which one.
thanks

Change the “enemy” to Eskimoes. It would be more believable.

Jed Eckert: ...Well, who *is* on our side?
Col. Andy Tanner: Six hundred million screaming Chinamen.
Darryl Bates: Last I heard, there were a billion screaming Chinamen.
Col. Andy Tanner: There *were*.

The irony of course is this (I didn’t see anyone on here catch this so far, either.)

In an effort to by politically correct, the studio is basically saying “Hey! Koreans... Chinese... Who can tell the effin difference! Just change the flags!”

After all. All “Orientals” look the same. ;-)
