Libya Uprising Raises Crucial Questions on Rebels .

The Libyan revolution that began as a spontaneous uprising a month ago is posing crucial questions for the U.S. and allies: Who, if anyone, is in charge, and what does the disparate rebel coalition want to achieve beyond ousting Col. Moammar Gadhafi?

The nature of the Libyan revolution has become an especially critical issue now that the U.S., European nations and Canada have unleashed a wide-scale air and missile campaign against Col. Gadhafi's regime, throwing the West's firepower behind the rebels' faltering forces.

On Sunday, the rebels' capital, Benghazi, remained in their hands, thanks to airstrikes that hit an advancing armored regime column.

U.S. and Western officials disagree with Col. Gadhafi's portrayal of the Libyan rebels as al Qaeda affiliates working at the behest of Osama bin Laden. But their support for the rebel cause is tempered by concerns over what role the country's deep-rooted Islamist militant networks will end up playing should Col. Gadhafi be ousted.

For now, the Libyan Islamists work shoulder to shoulder with defectors from the regime, secular intellectuals, tribal chiefs and youth campaigners, all of them united by hatred of Col. Gadhafi—and by fear of merciless reprisals should he succeed in reconquering eastern Libya.

Prominent revolutionaries at the rebel headquarters in the Benghazi courthouse include a veteran of the Afghan jihad against...

The real 10000 dollar question is how we can pull stunts like these as Londonistan retires aircraft carriers and the harrier while France limps around De gaule and the USA cuts on F22s and F35s...

We should look at our rigs before talking about others’... It is a win for Eurabization and Kadafi, this myopa, I suppose

Ah, wouldn't we want to know that before we start bombing?

Although I’ve always been known as a hawk, this is one occasion in which I have serious concerns.

I have vibes about this and only see a lose-lose outcome for the U.S. Let the Europeans and Arab nations handle it.

Besides, I have been looking at the crowd pictures since this thing started and noted every “protester” appears well fed, healthy (very big mouths) and muscular. I am not suggesting they are soldiers in civilian clothes, but it’s my observation is these are not deprived nor mistreated people. They look more like the union thugs in Madison than a persecuted people.

We know he is a terrorist and supports terrorism in many places. But, just how cruel has he been to his people? Who is whipping up the people into a frenzy?

Well i guess smart people would act like this...

Unfortunately it looks like our “leaders” have just flipped a coin to deside which side we do support in a civil war.
(which is none of our business anyway).

These people need to realize that the window for them to get their shit in one sock is rapidly closing, and if they fail they may well end up as a brand new French or Italian Colony when it’s all said and done.

In the past normally when a President had done something I usually asked myself "How will this help us as a nation?"

How will this be an advantage to the United States?

That was my first question, under Reagan, under Clinton and under Bush. In fact, under all Presidents. But that's all changed a bit. Sort of reversed. Now, as a general rule because of the pattern of his presidency, if Obama is against it, it was probably something more beneficial to America than it was to America's disadvantage.

Likewise, if Obama's for it, it's probably not something that is in America's best interest.

Social Health care, higher taxes, banning the US from drilling of oil in gulf while literally at the same time giving Mexico millions to fund their drilling in the gulf, bowing to the Saudis, Amnesty for illegals, State of the Union praising China more than America, Taking over of the banks, taking over the auto industry, slamming Colombia, siding with communists in central America instead of with those who were pro-America, apologizing for the existence of America while visiting foreign nations, dissing leaders of countries who have had history of good relations with the United States, admitting he'd like to see $5 a gallon for gasoline in the United States and the list can go on and on and on in fact I cannot find anything that Mr. Obama has done that actually benefited the United States... and you wonder why some question the results of his bombing of Libya?

If tomorrow President Obama began bombing North Korea I would also have to stop and ask myself "Are there any disadvantages to the United States for doing what Obama's doing right now?"

Because if there was actually an advantage to the United States in something this President does, it would be the first time in the two years of this administration.

With this President? Israel maybe!

The Iranian leadership has about as much love for America that Obama has. Don't hold your breath.

Well-stated. There is enough evidence by the Deceiver-in-Chief from his past words/deeds to really question this. Hey, quivering republicans...what say you?

And who really cares? The evil we don’t know is better than the psychopath we do.
