A coalition of the United States and four other nations launched military action against Libya on Saturday, officials said, as the West tries to force Muammar Gaddafi from power.
A U.S. official told reporters on condition of anonymity that a coalition including the United States, France, Britain, Canada and Italy had begun launching strikes on Libya designed to cripple Muammar Gaddafi's air defenses.
At least some Arab nations are expected to join the coalition later, the official said.

we’ll find some arab nations to help us bomb the Libyan stone throwers, when they are not too busy shooting their own stone throwers
...if by "help", you mean "sell us oil", then you're probably right.
mebbe we should just bomb the stone throwers with stone throwers
Italy, France, hohoho.
I'm Italian and the last time we fought a good battle was before the Romans fought the Huns.
What is Berlusconi gonna provide, the camp followers?
The Italian Army was involved in WWII for about a week, I think they held out one day longer than the French.
It's an English speaking trio of countries against the mooselimbs.
Kill them all and give the land to the French and Italians.
Well, at least we know which nation's ruling party leaders had their tax-free, no questions asked gold bullion stored in Ghadafi's bank.
WMD??? Stop being stupid with that issue. Iraq had them and everyone knows it.
Where is “Code Pinkos” gang marching and shouting, “No Blood for Oil”?
*crickets*
After 787 days of systematically punishing our allies and rewarding our enemies I’m surprised that we have 5 friends to form a coalition.
I suspect Libya will be partitioned. And, that’s just the beginning for the N. African & ME region.
2011 is shaping up to be the yr of the unexpected.
Don’t diss the french and Italians. They are showing more resolve than an Ozombiefied America.
Iraq should have been split more-or-less along ethnic lines and set at each others’ throats.
Turkey deserved an independent and hostile Kurdistan on its border as a special reward for its “coöperation” at the start of the war.
But what do I know?
Obama’s war of choice.

First, I LOLed hard.
Then, I realized you are 100% right.
It doesn’t seem quite as funny now.
Ok msm come out come out where ever you are.
Funny peculiar, not funny ha ha.
*sigh*
From an article Saturday, March 19, 2011 7:05 pm:
In a joint statement to Gadhafi late Friday, the United States, Britain and France backed by unspecified Arab countries...
Yeah, unspecified because they do not exist, but hey, the "coalition" is hoping some of them will join them.
According to this website there were 52 countries in the Coalition of the Willing in March-April 2003, 15 of which provided boots on the ground. In March 2004 there were 53 countries with 34 providing troops.
17 UN resolutions were promptly ignored by Iraq along with harboring of known terrorists, large payments to suicide bombers, known terrorist training camps, WMD and its use on their citizens, over a year of warnings and a Congressional Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq and all of these led to an illegal, immoral, war of choice and agression by President George W. Bush.
But this fiasco? All is well in Barry's World. [BARF!]
Interesting thought...perhaps this is the olive branch being offered? Barry may be concerned that these "friends" would come to the aid of American "rebel forces" when the time comes, if he did not help them when they asked.
Interesting thought. (Are British taxes lower than American taxes?)
