I just watched the news. US ships are firing at Libya. I was out fishing this morning, so I missed the early reports. Did we declare war on Libya? Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution grants Congress the exclusive power to declare war, so that's what happened...right?
Your list there is searching for an entrance strategy.
The question was not whether or why China or Russia are falling down on their responsibilities. The question was whether or not the Commander In Chief needs a declaration of war from Congress authorizing him to act when he already has a treaty from Congress authorizing him to act. The answer to that question is “Of course not.”
I’m sure we will invade Mexico at some point. Just wait a few years.
I guess I forgot to put the :/s symbol after my post.
FYI, the Korean war was also referred to as a police action so there’s nothing new. Whether the American people like it or not, our government has decided to become the world’s policeman and the world’s refugee camp.
How many FReepers think America is a Sovereign nation? I hope it’s not more than just a very few because the NWO is upon us.
I think I got your joke the first time around. :)

I ma gonna scare the heck out of you .. hold your cookies now ..
If you go to http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_WAR_PROTEST?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2011-03-19-18-32-15
you will see that at the bottom of the article Charlie Rangel says:
U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel , D-N.Y., joined the protesters, saying he was angry that Congress was not consulted before the military strikes. He said he was undecided on whether the military action against Libya was justified.
“Our presidents seem to believe that all we have to do is go to the U.N. and we go to war,” Rangel said as a large television behind him at the recruiting station showed an advertisement for the Air Force with crews loading missiles onto fighter jets.
“Going to war is not a decision that presidents should make,” he added.
Rangel saw heavy combat in Korea and was decorated for his actions there.
I would not let Rangel oversee a nickel of the public's money, and he probably should be in jail. But when it comes to matters of war, he is someone who knows what he's talking about.
It's not a war or police action. It's a campaign event.
Obama! The War President!
Never miss a chance to turn a crisis into a political opportunity, yessirree.
A few...Some appear to be simple U.N. dupes.
The last president made American citizenship all but pointless and publicly supported a lawless flop house America.
More people are dying on the Mexican/Texas border, not to mention Mexicans are causing great harm to our economy, choked off our medical system and have, killed, raped, robbed shot, stabbed, and ran over tens of thousands of Americans ...Shouldn't be be bombing Mexico?
Im sure we will invade Mexico at some point. Just wait a few years.
Never...I believe you're government will continue to force you to pay for this epic violent invasion with your last dime...They'll eventually turn American civil war memorials into soccer fields....The Alamo into a medical clinica....
I wish I were joking...
Your government too...
That’s the whole idea of the One-World-Government crowd.
America must not be superior to the rest of the world, but should genuflect before the UN and join the game where all sit in each other’s excrement and sing kumbayah.
Obama is a War President of an Illegal War!
When our economy is so wrecked that not even Mexicans want to move here, we’ll swoop in and take over Mexico and make it into a bunch of states. Then all the old people here who can afford it will buy up their primo real estate.
Bank on it.
