President Trump? Billionaire considering 2012 run (Wants obama to release BC)
Chicago Tribune/AP ^ | March 19, 2011 | BETH FOUHY

Posted on 03/19/2011 7:42:07 AM PDT by Smokeyblue

Donald Trump boots contestants off his TV show with a famous two-word catch phrase: "You're fired." He may want the chance to say the same to President Barack Obama.

The real estate tycoon with the comb-over hairdo and in-your-face attitude plans to decide by June whether to join the field of GOP contenders competing in 2012 to make the Democratic incumbent a one-term president.

Trump insists he's serious. He rejects skeptics' claims that he's using the publicity to draw viewers to "Celebrity Apprentice," the NBC reality program he co-produces and hosts.

SNIP

Obama should be pressed to disclose the original birth certificate. "When you look at what happens today, you look at the misconduct, the fraud and forgeries, you really want to see proof," Trump told the AP. Obama was born and grew up in Hawaii, and his 2008 campaign issued a certification of live birth -- an official document from the state.

--The "birther" movement has legitimate concerns, Trump told ABC. "The reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him."

Trump certainly has the strong opinions of a candidate.

But would the thrice-married billionaire known for his extravagant hotels and golf courses brave the mundane rituals of retail campaigning and the intense examination his business empire and personal wealth would draw?

The liberal element of the GOP fears Trump more than the conservative wing

That should be all we need to know.

Personally, I believe having Trump as Prez would be an embarrassing thing for our country. That being said, historically speaking, most leaders have been embarrassing jokes. True leaders like Hammurabi, David, Solomon, Nebuchadnezzar, Alexander, Charlemagne, Washington, Bismarck, Churchill et al have been followed by pathetic losers who have either inherited the role or blackmailed, bribed and murdered to gain position. Many leaders are in position because they are the amiable front-men for cartels and guilds who have paved the way for their position. Given that, I don't really care so much for who occupies the Oval office nearly as much as I care about the people who controls and surrounds him.

Who does Trump owe? From what pool of resources would he draw to staff the various appointed positions? More old guard GOP, or would Trump candidate his White House staff with a special season of The Apprentice?

Dittos for "rogue" candidates like Palin. Whose Rolodex would she go through to find Sec State, Sec Defense, Treasury and the other Departments?

It should be pretty obvious to everyone now that the reason why Barry is always on vacation or at the golf course is because he presides yet does not lead. His role is to be the name uttered with every curse rather than the likes of Cass Sunstein, Ken Salazar, Lisa Jackson or Anthony "Van" Jones. Likewise, Trump, Palin or whatever darling of the Tea Party arises, will likely be yet another name for the masses to pin all of their hopes, dreams or curses on while the real heavy lifting of policy is being conducted by behind the scenes few.

What does excite me about non-establishment types, is that their allegiance is more likely to the disenfranchised lumpenprols than to Wall Street, "Bilderbergers/Illuminati", international criminal-narco cartels and the Unions.

We are on the same side, destroy obozo! Let's get this straight, I WILL vote for the Republican nominee even if it is Trump! No 3rd party Perot types to split the vote.

Oh freaking please. Have you ever run a business? He has lost money but has made millions and has taken risks his whole life.

Donald Trump is an arrogant douchebag who's allowed to be an arrogant douchebag because he's a self-made man with a proven track record of success --much of this success achieved after experiencing the hard, painful lessons of failure. These are actually good qualities for an American President to possess. I'm electing a national leader, not a drinking buddy.

I'm not yet sold on Trump though but I do believe it'll be a good thing for the campaign season if he throws his hat into the ring.

I am thankful for that! Let’s hope all the “I am going to vote my conscience” folks will see things that clearly!

It was also said at one time that a “hollywood actor” could not become president

We need someone who is 100% dedicated to the preservation of our society, a person with tried and true leadership skills, a person who knows how to take a penny & turn it into private sector capital and a person who is not afraid to speak truth to power against our nations radical muslim & communist-socialist enemies from within as well as from without.

Does Trump fit the qualifications? YES. What does it matter that he failed. Like my husband & I, at least he didn't cower. Like us, he dug in and fought to rebuild up his business. This is the stuff a true leader. Period.

I like the fact that Trump can go after Obama without appearing as a politician.

Because very few “celebrities” are conservative, you don’t get much common sense thought in the “popular” day to day media. Just a lot of idiot libs spouting their nonsense.

Trump isn’t anywhere near my top choice for POTUS but I salute him for lobbing some snarks at Baraq. Snarks that will show up on Entertainment Tonight, HuffPo, etc.

I’m hoping he assigns the task of finding Baraq’s birth certificate to the Apprentice contestants some week.

I always get the feeling that anything Trump says or does is solely for the purpose of promoting "The Donald".

And that is certainly something a life-long politician would NEVER do..... (tongue planted firmly in cheek).

I hope to heck he runs. Even if he doesn’t get the nomination or win the Presidency, he’ll force the self-serving, lying, two-faced, chickens*** politicians to come out in the light and come clean with the American people. That’s something rats hate; the light.

I will be voting for Trump. He will say what others won’t and don’t have the gonads to. He bashes China and “free trade”. What’s not to like?
