"In Texas, many of my friends are saying the same thing."

Looks like I picked the right place to retire to. Hoping to relocate there later this year, in keeping with Davy Crockett's example: "You may all go to Hell, and I will go to Texas."

I got a call from the AFl-CIO the other day wanting to know my opinion on the Wisconsin furor. When I told the caller I totally support Walker, I could almost hear the gasp on the other end of the line. She quickly ended the “conversation.”

Organized liberal activism. Pro-union forces are going kicking and screaming just like the buggy whip makers, they have to grow up and face the facts the unions are a thing of the past.

Huckabee would have folded like a cheap suit on a hot and humid afternoon in Dixie if he had been Governor of Wisconsin instead of Walker..

Governor "let me clarify" Huckabee

We have the numbers...but what we lack is time. Most TEA party people are hard working types that cant take time off to protest. The Union thugs were paid for their protests{Ironic that tax dollars finaced lefty union scum, but thats AMerica these days}. Tea party people dont have the luxery of taking time off to further our agenda.
The left were always better at getting groups of malcontents together at a moment notice. Most lefties are unemployed or can get a rubber stamped doc excuse. This is disgusting.
Tea party groups are like French resistance cells. There is no one group in charge. Each group operates independent of tother groups nationwide. No central planning group means that we cant get a large group together with any speed.
If we had a functioning FBI or Justice dept, they would look into where these groups get their cash and how it is spent. But under Obamas regime, that is highly unlikely.

Now we are seeing the correlation of the Progressives, the Unions, and the Non-profits.

Look for Gov. Walker to be linked to Global Warming.

Not necessarily so. My stepson organized a "flash mob" in Daley Square in Chicago to counter a "pro-choice" march. Hundreds of young people showed up. Video at http://www.catholicvote.org/discuss/index.php?p=14699

However, the main point is correct. The Tea Party people have lives; the leftists don't. Prior to the fall of the USSR there was an annual "anti-war" protest at the main gate of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on Hiroshima Day (August 8). We would try to get a counter-protest to match them. They had lots of college kids as part of their group (school was out for the summer). We had only a bunch of retired people, or self-employed people. As one of my fellow protesters remarked to me, "Our kids have jobs."

When the Tea Party people finally showed up in Madison, it was on a Saturday. They gave up part of their weekend to counter-protest. The teachers and other union goons got sick pay to show up during the week.

Wisconsin has a strange combination of socialist/communist/union group-think thugs and “every man for himself—gimme mine” slugs.

I heard a discussion yesterday on Wisconsin talk radio about the teachers using their school email accounts to organize demonstrations against Walker. One caller actually said that he saw nothing wrong with that and didn’t see how that was costing the taxpayer anything. Unbelievable....

Between the multiple death threats and the thuggish mentality of the union supporters, I'm afraid someone will get killed before this is over. The perpetrator will be a leftist, but the media will blame it on conservatives, as happened in Tucson. The violence will be turned into another reason why Walker should cave in.

The activist judge who blocked Walker's law yesterday has helped out the Democrats before--in 2008 she blocked the attorney general of Wisconsin from verifying voter IDs so that the Democrats' plans for voter fraud could proceed.

I agree...we are seeing what has been planned for a long time.

Going back to 1897 John Dewey stated...”I believe that education is the fundamental method of social progress and reform.” And...”I believe that in this way the teacher always is the prophet of the true God and the usherer in of the true kingdom of God.” Both statements are from “Pedagogic Creed” by John Dewey in 1897...he signed the “Humanist Manifesto 1”

“If religion is to survive, it must be human and social. It is they who insist upon a supernatural foundation and object who are its enemies.” “The Next Step In Religion” by Roy Wood Sellars in 1918...author of the “Humanist Manifesto 1”

“Two ideas are here in conflict - on the one hand, man organizing and directing his own life, on the other, professing to believe that a deity orders it for him. Between the two there can be no reconciliation, and religion will eventually have to give way to the facts.” from “Humanism” by John H. Dietrich in 1933...signed the “Humanist Manifesto 1”

I would suggest that everybody should read “Humanist Manifesto 1” from 1933 to get a good understanding of what these men were working towards. But now if we “fast forward” to 1973 we see that “Humanist Manifesto 2” is now published and some of the statements in here are interesting.

“No deity will save us; we must save ourselves.”

“We affirm that moral values derive their source from human experience. Ethics is autonomous and situational, needing no theological or ideological sanction.”

“We believe in the right to universal education.”

“a minimum guaranteed annual income.”

“We deplore the division of humankind on nationalistic grounds.”

“The conditions of work, education, devotion, and play should be humanized. Alienating forces should be MODIFIED OR ERADICATED...”

These are just a few...there are plenty more.

What we are seeing in Wisconsin (where I live) is the next front of the culture war...with over 100 years of the other side educating the majority of the population. I too do not know how this will end.

But I do see a way forward if people are willing to take it...

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

What is one way of doing this...

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

We need to stop sending our own children to learn from the wicked, sinners, and mockers.

We are in a culture war, but it is really a spiritual war and we need to arm ourselves to fight in the Spirit.

Ephesians 6:12-13 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Very good and thank you. I read the “Humanist Manifesto 1” while in the Navy during the 60s. A right thinking Sr. NCO got me up to speed at 19 no less but my parents had done well in that regard also.

Your Scriptural references are comforting, oddly enough I was reading Psalm 1:1 the other morning before dawn. We have seven granddaughters that we are in constant prayer over as well as their parents. This is a very troubling period in our nation but Ephesians 6 reminds us of the true enemy as you point out.

Thank you for your post.

Thank you for your reply.

I have seven children of my own...no grandchildren yet (oldest child is 20, youngest is three). We pray for their future and home school them. We too find comfort in the Scriptures.

God bless
