President proves to be hoops guru (MSM fawns over ZerO, barf)
Yahoo! Sports ^ | 3-18-11 | Dan Wetzel

Posted on 03/19/2011 1:32:38 AM PDT by wac3rd

(snip)

Barack Obama picked 29 of the 32 games so far correctly on his bracket. He just went a blistering 29-3 in the first round. While millions of Americans have had their brackets busted, Obama’s is almost perfectly intact after two days of play. (snip)

Other than that, he has ridden a wave of success from favorites that have mostly robbed the vaunted tournament of its signature small-school upsets but proven money for those, such as Obama, who picked few upsets. Obama’s score would rank him in the top 1 percent of the masses who played the Yahoo! Tournament Pick’em Game. He appears capable of scoring higher than any player on Yahoo! and perhaps any of the other bracket contests on the Internet. (snip)

Obama is a basketball fan. As President, he has taken in college games in person and expressed that he regularly watches on TV. Participating in the filling out of a bracket would seem to be a typical political maneuver to bolster a connection with millions of Americans. Showing such proficiency at picking the teams, though, may not be what the White House hoped. Just how much college basketball has the President been watching? Newt Gingrich criticized Obama this week for his “fixation” on the Final Four in lieu of other issues. Actually, Obama’s selections may suggest he isn’t that devout a fan. His picks were overwhelmingly for name programs and favorites – simply following the seedings of the selection committee. (snip)

It’s a chalk event thus far, easier to pick for the casual fan than the hardcore one who over-thinks things. Or perhaps President Obama really knows his stuff (snip)

Economy in tatters, unions protesting, dollar crashing, Japan in ruins, Libya and Middle East in Civil War...and Obama golfs, parties and vacations...the fawning, Liberal media cannot stop their 14-year old teenage girl crush for the Marxist Muslim Messiah.

At least he got 15 of 16 teams right...even the ESPN guys were hailing his binary choice prowess...

I am about to hurl...

Obama spend most of his time as president, playing golf and watching sports. So I wouldn’t be surprised he’s good at picking the right teams

The Elvis/Beatles like drooling and shreiking for an absentee, destructive Marxist by our Pravda Media is shocking.

He’s obviously had a lot of extra time on his hands.

Let us retain all these fawning attempts of brown nosing so we may throw it back at the MSM in a few years when Obama becomes a has been, a used towel, a dirty sock, a burnt out light bulb.

Obama only makes tough decisions on his NCAA picks.

Try this one out to see how low this country's president has acquiesced:

Zer0's NCAA picks audio mixed with world news reports--

Barry must be thrilled. Time for some hoops. Time for some ice cream. Time for a swim. Up yours America.

There's so much to hammer with this administration.

With record unemployment, an unfathomable budget deficit, and $4 gallon gas, Zer0's a sitting duck. Jimmy Carter all over again.

Time to step up Republicans!

It’d be nice if he could find some time in his busy play schedule to make some, oh, I dunno, policy picks.

Just when I think I can’t despise him more deeply than I already do, he comes up with something to top his own arrogance.

His name will be in the history books, right up there with Nero.

I've only gotten 23 so far.

But I work for a living.

Is that disgusting, or what? He’s obviously spending more time fooling with basketball than his real job - heading the most important country in the world.

If he wants to spend his time playing games and going on vacation, why the heck did he run? When he doesn’t pay attention, people starve. People die.

What the Heck is wrong with this man? (yes I do know). He is a shallow, selfish centered fool.

Lets throw him a curve. Lets see if he can accurately predict the seeding for the NCAA D I mens hockey tournament.

Get him a job at ESPN where he’ll make politically incorrect statements followed by tabloid news reports of his illegal drug use at the White House but they’ll put him on paid leave, subsequently promote him to executive VP of programming while the NCAA renames the Final Four tournament in his honor.

I don't watch basketball of any sort and I got 29 of 32 in the 1st round last year. When most games are decided by 3 points or less a lot of these games are crapshoots, whoever has the ball last.

Full disclosure: I'm, 20 of 32 this year.

Well, we finally know what’s on his mind: not Japan’s earthquake, tsunami, and
nuclear break-down, not the collapsing US economy, not the historically high unemployment rate here, not the historically low employee rate, but. . . BBALL!
Can’t we get a real president in 2012?

Good grief...I just got back from lunch at the chow hall (where some big TVs are) and you’re right - the media was slobbering all over Obama and his bracket picks. They went on and on about it.
