Much media attention has been paid to the efforts of Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) to defund what has now been dubbed the ObamaCare Slush Fund, which is the $105 billion that Rep. Bachmann claims is hidden in the text of the Affordable Care Act. While many have jumped on board in debunking this stat, King and Bachmann are pressing forward in trying to eliminate this fund, introducing amendments on the House floor that would zero out this $105 billion.
Republican leadership is not supporting them in their quest, however. According to a top aide for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, There is no way we can include their [Bachmann and King's] amendment; it would just bog us down and undercut the leadership goal of getting real cutting done through negotiations with Democrats and the White House.

Cantor is POS so is McCarthy and Boehner. VERY DISSAPPOINTED.
Canter is a First Class Weak Sister.
Lifetime term limits for elected officials at all levels of government — no career politicians. And add a federal balanced budget amendment, with 2/3 majority of both houses to raise taxes or fees, plus perimeter-to-area limits on Congressional redistricting to force regularly shaped areas, not gerrymandered ones that ensure a particular political party always is elected.
‘Nuff said.
What deals didja make, Mr. Cantor?
“it would just bog us down and undercut the leadership goal of getting real cutting done through negotiations with Democrats and the White House.
Is it just me, or does that statement really sound stupid?
We don't negotiate with terrorists.
The article you are posting to contradicts your assertion.
What do you think, Martin?
Kinda makes ya wonder about the OP House “Leadership”...Live Woman or Dead Boy? Makes ya wonder.
If you read this article and the article linked in this article, you discover the $105 billion figure is not in dispute. What they are criticizing is Bachmann’s claim that the $105B is hidden.
That’s all. They say it’s not hidden.
Sheesh, what idiots.
I’m sick of Cantor, boehner, already. Very embarrassing.
“...bog us down and undercut the leadership goal of getting real cutting done through negotiations with Democrats and the White House”
What a wimp!
You aren’t going to get real cuts done by negotiating with the Democrats - they don’t think anything should be cut!
All the while they are funding obamacare on the Repubs watch!
This is ridiculous!
EXCELLENT!
The best way to fight back is to ENCOURAGE conservative media to give more time to real conservatives like, Bachmann, King, West, etc. And to stop interviewing these tired hacks.
And, NO pensions for pols. Period.
Now is the time to take this stand. This cannot wait. Get some backbone, Cantor. Who/what are you afraid of?
Negotiations? Loser's negotiate to mitigate their loss. The only negotiations I would support concern the size of the surplus from spending cuts. Let the Democrats fight for a zero surplus. And if they won't negotiate, close it down! Enough of this nonsense. The country isn't going to evaporate if non-essential government services are discontinued until Democrats give in - yes - give in!!
GOP leadership has always been a weak link. remember trent lott? remember john mccain?
GOP leaders have to be dragged kicking and screaming into doing the right thing. THEN they claim it was their idea all along.
