How fitting that a school named after our profligate, post-achievement president is shutting down thanks to fiscal mismanagement and non-achievement.
R.I.P., Barack Obama Elementary School (hat tip: reader Peter):
"The state fiscal monitor who oversees financial operations in the school district Thursday morning ordered the closing of the Barack H. Obama Elementary School as of July 1."

Will those union members just be reassigned to other schools so they can damage them as well, or will they be laid off? The will try and worm their way into the surrounding districts through crony anti-scholasticism.

That’s a sad photo. Seeing the peeling paint, I could see where perhaps at one point they might have wanted to spruce it up a bit. But then someone brought out the EPA regulation book. Probably went something like “Prior to any major remodelling, tests of paint for lead content; tile floors for asbestos, and cabinetry for formaldhyde must be performed. No major remodelling can be performed if 0.00001% of above substances are found, unless all substances are removed.”
