Mitt Romneys supporters on Capitol Hill are giving him political cover for the healthcare plan he signed into law as governor, even as his competitors for the GOP presidential nomination ramp up their attacks on RomneyCare.
Romneys healthcare reform initiative in Massachusetts is viewed as one of his biggest political liabilities going into the Republican primary, due to its similarities to President Obamas healthcare overhaul.
But leading conservatives, including supporters of Romney during his 2008 presidential run, argue that the Massachusetts plan isnt a deal-breaker.
One of the reasons I endorsed Romney [in 2008] is his attempts to make private health insurance available at affordable prices, said Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.), a GOP kingmaker.

That being said, he's one of our better senators, truly a conservative we can be proud to support. A sad statement on the condition of the U.S. Senate, the Republican Party, and what passes for "conservatism" these days if your best, your most conservative, is a Romney supporter and defender of socialized medicine.
Though, I doubt you'll recognize that.

Cut the crap, you're just trying to fill the coffers of your stupid third party with this stuff. Your posts are like blog pimps.
Next time, comment on my main point.

I got your main point, which was that we should ignore the 8000 pound RINO in the room. I mean, hey, it’s the best you’ve got. Don’t worry, be happy.
Your other crap is just a malicious lie.

This bears no resemblance to the article on the website.

There are two (largely incongruent) articles.

Wow. Quick response. But that has nothing to do with the accuracy of this thread or its links.

I apologize, when I went to the Hill I landed on the other article today regarding Jim DeMint on RomneyCare...which as I said is largely inconsistent with the one you posted.

Apology accepted.
I seriously doubt that their quick response will do much to mitigate the fact that conservatives just got a huge reminder that DeMint was a Romney supporter, or to flush DeMint's deceptive spin on what RomneyCare was and is down the memory hole.
I have to laugh. DeMint coming down on exact opposite sides of such an important issue ALL IN ONE DAY is extremely Romneyesque.

DeMint needs to directly hear what we all have said on this post. We need to contact him. Does anyone have his email address, etc. b/4 I search for it?
He needs to know that he is wrong on this one. Totally wrong.

Romney is an unprincipled, spineless, limp wristed, equivocating, establishment, panty waist RINO.
Exactly the opposite of what this country needs!

The events of today associated with Jim DeMint, Mitt Romney, and RomneyCare are another vivid demonstration of the rising power of the citizen media.

I refuse to vote for Romney or any RINO. If the Repubs try to shove him on us "McCain" style, it is not going to be pretty. Sounds like DeMint needs to go on “spring break” far far away from the “inside the belt” sell outs.
