Pinkbell, I understand where you are coming from. I have a hard time supporting a pro-abortion candidate but let me ask you what you would do if he won the nomination. Would you sit home and not vote?

I have thought about this and came to the conclusion that fiscal matters are the MOST important issues of the day. Social issue’s will have to come in second. Even if we had a social conservative who wanted to reverse Roe v. Wade the chances of them being successful would be less than 10% and the amount of effort needed would tremendous. We do not have that kind of time. Our energy must go towards saving this republic and sending Obama home, period.

I'd been hoping I wouldn't die of old age before one other person on FR ever figured that one out...

Other than that, I see several bigger moral issues sitting around in the world which nobody is even talking about, including persecution of Christians which we have the power to stop, undoing the KKKlintler/Albright/Clarke mess in the Balkans, Serbia, Kosovo etc.

You know, I would have to cross that bridge when I come to it. I believe that social issues and fiscal issues go hand in hand, and I don’t want a RINO getting the nomination. To me, there is no issue more important than abortion. If you believe the unborn child is a person whose life is being snuffed out, then there is no more important issue than legalized murder of innocent persons.

The problem with tossing the social issues aside in a candidate is that those issues end up costing us money!

The candidates that aren't conservative on the social issues are ok with throwing more money in the form of funding where gov. needs to scram.

Nope, you can't disregard the social and pretend it won't effect the fiscal.

I agree with you. We need Obama out. Looking at our current crop of potentials, I am surprised to say it, but he is a front runner in my book.

The focus needs to be on this economy and jobs and he knows that world. He’s failed a few times and come back from it. Right there that tells me he is far more qualified than Obama and/or the other repubs in the running currently.
