A search on the genealogy website for the Social Security Death Index for Thomas Wood with an SSI number issued in CT does bring up the record in question. You can run your own search at: http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi

Your social security number only shows up if you were collecting social security before you died. If Thomas Woods died at the age of 19, he would not have been on social security. My parents names did not show up until shortly they passed away.

Link shows Thomas Wood passed in July 1981.

But it was supposedly used on Obama’s SSN registration in July 1980. Of course it doesn’t add up.

I searched for consecutive numbers near Obama’s and this was the first “hit” I got for someone with an SSN just after his:

P Grazia, died at age 24, SSN=042-68-4429, also issued in CT

I’m sure anyone could repeat the process to find many other 042 SSNs issued in CT. Of course, if anyone found an 042 SSN NOT issued in CT, this would invalidate the claim that all 042’s come from CT.
