Like most Michigander’s I’m not thrilled with the emergency manager law but I don’t see any other option. The unions are already dictating policy to local governments.
It will primarily target places like Detroit and Flint.
Did you hear Frank Beckman’s discussion of this law? It’s probably available on the WJR website. He said it’s very similar to one that has been on the books for almost 20 years and is what has allowed Robert Bobb to be brought in during the Granholm administration to make some courageous decisions to get the Detroit Public Schools on track. Nothing can be done without the permission of the community that is being “managed”.
Maybe this will stop the looting that the big cities impose on the rest of the state. I’m tired of paying the tab for the Detroit schools vacations. Oh wait I mean training trips.
Sir, I don’t know about *most* Michiganders being against these *emergency managers.*
State your evidence.
Dunno about Snyder, MI AG Schuette appears to be wreckless, who knows what our state elections have stated, but he would rather suck up to muzzies than defend the average citizen here. That’s another topic to watch.
We’ll know in 100 days. In the meantime Snyder is taking the *business approach* to this whole mess.
Gov. Walker took on this same mess head on, fleebaggers and all that. However, it appears Snyder is going the *business* way and is executing it a whole different way, death by a 1000 cuts.
Lots to talk about in the years to come.
So, you are saying that you’re ok with the idea that the local government that you elected can be tossed out and replaced at whim without the input of the people?
