I agree. I’m sick to death of the whiny types on this board, with the “glass half empty” mentality. What a bunch, they sound like liberals.

Half of them probably are, just trolls.

There seems to be more and more popping up every day. What a bunch, just miserable naysayers who are like a spreading cancer.

Free Republic is a huge target for trolls, both paid and weekend warriors. They know we are influential and they are trying to influence the huge lurker crowd we have.

That's why we have to be vigilant and keep our arguments clear and clean and zot the libs. That way we win and they lose.

Plus it's fun!

RE :” And sorry if I offend possibly one of your choices, but I cannot see tremendous Conservative support for Gingrich or a former US Senator who not only actively supported a future Democrat (Specter) but lost his reelection by 19%.

LOL, I been posting over and over that I don't know any major group of people that want Newts to run. He is a loser with some liberal ideas.

I always thought the Fred Thompson strategy was a disaster, picking a candidate before they actually commit and then begging them to run. They need to (this goes for anyone) commit first then explain to me what they would do different and why it will work. Repeating that :”Obama is doing everything wrong and I will be different” is not enough. Nor is making empty promises they cant possibly keep.

In Palin's case staying at FNC now is just a sign she is not serious about running. Only time will tell if that is the case and no-one has officially announced yet.

RE :”He has 90% of the blacks and 70% of the latinos all he needs is 40% of the rest.

So true. Out of the rest, whites, asian-americans, there is a good % that believes that the liberal educated all knowing all powerful federal government is the solution and that cutting $60B out of a $3T budget is extreme when we can just raise taxes.

Two words that should never be used to describe an incumbent’s chances 18 months before an election are “no way.” I think that Obama’s road to 270 looks very perilous right now, and there’s a real chance that he will get below 200 electoral votes, but (i) 18 months is several lifetimes in politics and (ii) we don’t know who the GOP nominee will be. I’m not throwing any parties yet.

short of a couple states requiring eligability, i think bambam walks all over the establishment rino that will be mcqueeged on us...

although i dont think it really wants or needs a 2nd term to kill the Republic, unless those same rinos grow some nuts and radically stop the bleeding...

I'll continue to act as if we have adults makin decisions in our interest, for now, but eventually something has to give...

You mean union idiots?

Unfortunately, for every union idiot there are 3 or 4 MORE mush-headed voters out there. The best hope we have is to somehow convince them that election day in 2012 is Wednesday.

Amen to that.
And the commies know it, and campaign accordingly, with a complicit propaganda wing in the press.

Hussein has a better that 50-50 shot at reelection, depends on who the GOP puts up, and how big their stones are when it comes to commie hunting.

Very rarely would you see a Marxist nation vote the commies OUT. Usually, it requires full-scale armed revolt. 2012 will be the last chance we have at democracy solving the problem.

I don’t see Baraq winning any 2-way matchup.

The scenarios I see him winning with a Clintonian plurality are:

A) Romney/Rino nomination producing Tea Party candidate

B) Palin nomination producing a Soros funded MSM backed “independent”.

2012 will be an exciting year and a huge financial win for the media.

discuss the facts as the facts

You know, if you'd bothered to actually post some facts to back up your original assertion, we wouldn't be having this little conversation.

Sitting there having a coniption over the fact that I'm simply refusing to just swallow your statement as gospel, just proves that you were talking out of your azz to begin with, and have NOTHING to back up what you said.

You said that Obama has a 60% chance of being re-elected. I'm asking you to explain how you know this, or by what process of logic you've arrived at this conclusion.

Where are your facts? Share the data, if you have it. That's all I asked from the outset, but you immediately got your back up and told me I had a problem with reading. I read what you posted just fine - now how 'bout you back up your alleged "mathematical probabilities"?

I assert that Obama doesn't have anything close to a 60% chance of being re-elected. His low approval numbers (-20 today, per Rasmussen) support that. There's an actual fact for you.

Lastly, if you can't have your statements challenged without exploding in a hissy fit, then your skin is too thin to be posting here. Your last little rant was a real tantrum.

I’ve been saying for awhile now, that no matter how bad things get in this coutnry due to the incompetence of obama, he will pull a flower out his butt nearing election day, and the voters will forget all about the pain and suffering they just went through for 4 long miserable years, and will reelect him again-

IF he gets elected again- these past 4 years will seem like good times compared to what he will foist upon us in the nexct 4 years as he and his ilk screw this country 21 ways from sunday- they will pull out ALL the stops in their bid to grab everythign they can while they can before the coutnry goes down the crapper than ks to their ineptitude and greed

‘thinble-brained much heads’ perfectly describe those who keep falling for the BS from the left- uit’s just scary to htink they are the ones who keep getting dolts elected to office-

Don ‘;t really want ot jum pin to the fray here- but while his approval rating is indeed low, other polls suggest that for now, if he were to go up against likely nominees fro mthe GOP- He’s still coming out ahead- there is somethign seriously wrong with voters if this is indeed the case- they continue to get spit upon by this inept no good playboy/racist, and yet they still prefere him over the GOP? As I’ve said before, I’ve lsot ALL faith in the voting public after watching in unbeleif as obama basically gave us all the middle figner, and jet setted aroiudn the workld on a massive party tour- coddlign terrorist nations while running htis coutnry into the mud abroad, and watchign his adoring fans contin ue ot support him regardless of how badly he seels us ALL out for his own personal gain-

I sincerely hope you’re right- but I’ve learned to never udnerestimate the stupidity and short term memories of those who got him elected i nthe first place- my biggest fear is that He, along with hte help of the lamestream media, will no doubt pull off some faux miracle near election time to get his numbers up again- the lamestream media is liek the pied piper- all they have to do is blow their little clarinette, and them mindless rats will coem obediently to the polls-

I couldn’t imagine clinton getting reelected for a second term, and lo and behold, my biggest fear was realized- that’s when I really started losing faith in the voters in this country

The only polls that count in the real world are election results, and the latest election results which give us an indication of where Obama really stands, are the 2010 midterms.

I don't think I need to say more than Obama and the Democrats took an historic beating, not just at the federal level, but at the state level, as well.

Those election results bode ill for the near-term future of that party, and for Obama's re-election hopes.

Since the 2010 midterms, conditions in America have continued to worsen. The new Republican-dominated House has only begun to push back against the Democrats' destructive agenda, and hasn't yet been able to arrest (let alone, reverse) the momentum and inertia of the decline the Democrats set in motion.

That means, that come 2012, Obama will have few real successes to point to, when he asks voters to give him another four years. Unlike Clinton, who had congress ripped away from him in the '94 midterms, Obama's cronies still have control of the Senate, which will enable them to thwart any real reforms the House Republicans attempt to get enacted, from now until election time.

Clinton was re-elected because the Republican congress was able to push through reforms that benefited the country. He was successful in convincing the majority of voters that he was responsible for bettering conditions, which of course, he was not.

Not only that, Clinton knew how to appear as though he was tacking toward the center. Obama has no such political skill, and is incapable of even feigning to be anything but an abject leftist.

His record and performance as president, after only two years, has cost him lots of support among those who elected him, especially among Independents, and even some Democrats. It's also hardened the resolve of the Republican right to go 'over the top' to defeat him in 2012.

For these reasons (and more), I believe that Obama will go down to massive defeat in the next election.

[[For these reasons (and more), I believe that Obama will go down to massive defeat in the next election. ]]

I do hope you’re right- but we can’t discount polls either, as it’s an indicator, qwhich at this point, is a bit dissappointing- Yes, the dems took a beating, however, the polls are still indicating that the majority would apparently rather elect this inept president again, than vote for any of the current GOP hopefuls?

[[Since the 2010 midterms, conditions in America have continued to worsen.]]

One would htink that this alone woudl be enough to turn people completwely against Obama- but nope- it doesn’t appear to be happening- Obama shopuld be significantly trailing in the likely voter 2012 polls- and I’ll say it again- it’s why I will never again underestimate the guillibility and stupidity of voters again- they just keep proving me right time after time- I really wish they’d surprise me and prove me wrong- but my gosh0- they are so stinkin fickle and feeble of mind that one small accomplishment by obama toward the next election will apparently be enough to make all those folks forget the pain and misery he inflicted for the past 4 yeears-

[[Obama’s cronies still have control of the Senate,]]

you had to pour salt in the wound eh? don ‘t remind me-
