One can only imagine what removing Christians from the pool of people who can foster children, will have on those children. This can’t be good.

Troubling news. Great Britain has not only succumbed to an official secularism that is blatantly hostile to Christian values and, at the same time, made more and more concessions to Islamic religious practices. This will not end well for England and it must be a warning to complacent Americans, especially Christians, who think ‘it can’t happen here’. It can - and will. Our complacency is a form of acquiescence. Americans are not immune to the harsh reality of unelected judges and governmental agencies decreeing liberal interpretations of law that suddenly find the Christian religion ‘intolerable’ in some way. We must remain vigilant.
Do they ever ask this question about any other religion?

This is liberalism taken to its logical extreme: They have the state decide what is good or bad for you. If they don’t like your religion, they call it an “infection.” I wonder what religion the judge belongs to?

Unfortunately one of the unintended consequences of the Thatcher era reforms was to eliminate large areas of traditional working class jobs that had become economically irrelevant and were protected by ‘jobs programs’ by both Labor and the Tory wets. This certainly helped create the massive growth of a welfare dependent, nonworking class i.e., the underclass.
Socialist government intervention in the economy is simply toxic as it creates administrative and bureaucratic programmatic controls which are subject to control and manipulation by politically privileged players (trade unions, for instance). The economy becomes increasingly dysfunctional as large amounts of the work force become part of the protected structures whether their activity creates little or no profit. Either the economy eventually enters stasis or a rough correction is administered to keep it functioning at all. The former privileged participants have their meal tickets canceled. The end of a lot of traditional trade union style jobs (mines, mills, foundries, smelters) suddenly casts many breadwinners adrift and directionless. Their offspring , who anticipated following dad and Uncle Fred into the plant or mine floor finds the universe changing overnight with few intellectual or psychological resources to use. Family dysfunction, collapse and pathology follow. ‘The helping professions’ only help dysfunction to flourish by propagating trendy pop psychological notions such as the courts and social welfare bureaucrats spout in this article.
