Union Rally Targets Democratic Maryland Governor Over Pension Reforms

Thousands are expected to protest the governor's pension reform proposal Monday night at a rally organized by Maryland's largest union for state employees, as budget challenges return to the forefront in the General Assembly after weeks of debate on social issues.

I watched a video yesterday on foxnews, which I can't find, where he was speaking in front of public union members. He's having the same problems that Wisconsin had, like so many others states are having. So he's being FORCED to balance the budget and in doing so has to do something about all the benefits the public unions are getting. He asked the public unions to pay more into their pensions and the unions of course are saying to him, stuff it. Let's see how this one squirms and the lamestream media ignores. This one in maryland looks huge.

The rank-and-file IS going to be giving back benes and pensions, no two ways about it. The leadership has them all revved-up and marching around to save the dues witholding...the stupid suckers.

My mothers property taxes are already ridiculous. She has an old small 3 bedroom 1950’s ranch, she’s paying around $3,000 a year in taxes on. And I think this year they went down. They finally got around to reassessing the property taxes. Took them 2 years to do it. My mothers home went from being worth around $425,000. She’d be lucky today if she got $300,000.

This is laughable. I also saw the interview on TV yesterday.
The dopey Dem Maryland Gov thought he was going to use great Machiavvlian moves on his gov’t union boobs. First castigated what the Repub Wisconsin Gov & Senate did last week to address their labor problems. Then the Maryland Gov went on to claim in the interview (in from of his union people) that he was going to work with the unions while forcing them to pay more for their benefits. I guess he thinks being a Dem and dealing with unions is like having a perpetual get of jail free card. Dope.

I saw that too. It was hilarious, you could tell he was trying his best to get out of it by throwing out that old, look what that Gov. in WI did stuff. Trying to draw attention away from what he was going to have to do. It's either that or raise taxes and maryland property owners already pay through the nose.

It looked to me like this could be way bigger then the protests in WI and way nastier.
