Madison Troublemakers School - April 1 & 2, 2011
Labor Education and Research Project ^ | 3-16-2011

Posted on 03/16/2011 9:59:24 AM PDT by chickadee

Working people are under assault and the assault will continue until we put an end to it. The protests at the Capitol are showing what working people are made of.

That’s the idea behind the Madison Labor Notes Troublemakers School. How do we build on the protests, protect what we have--and lay the foundation to fight for more? Led by experienced labor activists, our workshops will explore strategies to fight back and give you the hands-on skills to make it happen.

The idea is not just to talk about problems for a day and then go home, but to come up with specific plans in some areas, so that we can go out Monday morning and get to work organizing to build on what we've done. There will be ample time to assess what we've gained through our unprecedented activism of the last month.

I wonder if Scott Walker had any idea what kind of firestorm he was unleashing when he tried to repair Wisconsin's budget. This may be the right state for the showdown, though. Wisconsinites can be very truculent when they find that outsiders are messing with their state.

Who are these "Working people?"

Is it only people that are part of a union? Or is it the millions of folks across the U.S.A. that work too?

I go to work and get paid... I must be a "working people."

“Working people” is another one of those code words from the left - and yes, it means union members. Another of the left’s code words is “community”, which means “African American”.

We are witnessing the death throws of the “private” sector Unionista’s and the liberal democrat socialist who cannot survive without the hundreds of millions of Unionista members dues being funneled to them, to buy their elections.

The enemy always fight the hardest, throwing everything thing they have left, just before they are defeated!

The free ride on the public gravy-train is over for the Unionista’s, watch your step getting off!

Gov Walker spent 8 years as a manager and had a lot of experience dealing with the unions. He knows how they operate and I'm sure that nothing that has happened, or will happen, has caught him unaware.

@ #5

I hope they don’t set the “oil fields” alight as they leave the state. (shudder)

I’ve seen “death throws” used in a few posts on FR, and I can’t keep quiet anymore - the term is “death throes” - throes A condition of agonizing struggle or trouble: a country in the throes of economic collapse.

How appropriate that these anarchists are holding their “school” on April Fools’ Day!

“Working people are under assault”

Yes, working people are under assault by the public employee’s unions. It is amazing to me that 5 percent of Wisconsin residents insist on directing the actions of the other 95% in order to enrich themselves and keep political control through intimidation and violence, and then call their actions “democracy”.

Toward the end of “Saving Private Ryan”, Pvt. Stanley Mellish, played by Adam Goldberg is in a fight to the death with a German soldier. Mellish is fighting one-on-one against a German soldier. The German slowly gains the upper hand. Mellish pulls out a knife, but the German is too strong, and pushes Mellish’s hand backwards, pointing the blade towards the American’s chest. Mellish starts to beg. “Wait a minute. Wait a minute”…The German slowly pushes the knife into Mellish’s chest, quietly whispering something in German, which translates as “Give up, you don’t stand a chance! Let’s end this here; it will be easier for you like this!” Mellish shakes as his life leaves him and the German leaves the room.

When unions negotiate wage increases they are also negotiating for increases in union dues. Many unions write in automatic increases that are pegged to the workers wage increase. A 3% wage increase will automatically raise dues by 1.5%. It’s all one big money making racket that makes money off the back of taxpayers.

It’s interesting that the very concept of unions “negotiating” higher wages and more benefits is a form of extortion. The fundamental threat of unions is that they will destroy the corporation or business with a walk-out if said business does not comply with their demands. How is this behavior any different than common thuggery??

I never could understand how this could be legal.

Is it only people that are part of a union?

yes, according to the Democrat Party and their willing accomplices in the national media. They have used this expression for several election cycles. I have been wondering when the 85% of American employed would stand up and say enough of saying I don't work since I am not in a union. Maybe the expression will be challenged on FoxNews, but I won't hold my breath.

The public sector unions extort their members and the taxpayers and then they use the money to bribe democrat politicians. The unions wouldn’t need to confiscate nearly as much money if they weren’t using it to buy democrats.
