On Libya and Budget, Obama Votes ‘Present’ (Inaction is a course with consequences)
National Review ^ | March 14, 2011 | Michael Barone

In the Illinois legislature, state senator Barack Obama voted “present” 129 times. Today, he seems to be voting present on two major issues — Libya and the budget.

National Security Adviser Tom Donilon told reporters Thursday that the United States and other nations have “taken a range of steps . . . to squeeze (Moammar) Qaddafi, isolate him, really turn him into a pariah.”

But the steps the United States has taken may well have bolstered Qaddafi’s determination to crush the rebellion against his regime.

On the one hand, we supported ....

On the other hand, we have.....

Or at least that was the interpretation of......

It is perhaps understandable that he has not chosen....

But the hesitancy to recognize ......

Meanwhile,............may have passed or be rapidly passing......

Obama seems to be voting “present” on the budget, as well.............

But of course, Barry issued a statement from the Church of Golf, Chapel of the Back Nine, saying “Our Thoughts and prayers are with the Japanese people”

...why anyone would consider him doing anything different after years of “calling it in” is puzzling. The media WILL NOT call him on it, they will make the excuse he’s way too busy....what they fail to recognize is he’s too busy avoiding leadership.....the rumor of him responding to White House staff meetings with rebuttals of “I’ve already been briefed on that”...when he has not been.....and “leave it with my staff”...shows his stupidity, and general child like behavior.

This is mind boggling. The day after one of the worst natural disasters in modern history Obama goes golfing. I wonder if he took a fiddle with him?

Just when you think you know the problem facing you, something out of the blue lets you know you don’t know squat.

Barry got his testicles caught on the fence he’s been straddling...or a tactic for tentative totalitarians?

If true, even that's going too far. Gaddafi's already a pariah and he's going to emerge weaker than before when the last rebel is mopped up in Libya. A weakened, neutered Gaddafi is far better than the alternative in that country.

“Not to decide is to decide”. Shakespeare knew!!!

He was quick enough to decide on the Cambridge cop, wasn't he?

Perhaps it's as simple as, he really only fits the shoes of a community organizer and will never fill the shoes needed to be a world leader. Period.

Maybe so. Also, it could be that Americans (the ones who supported HIM anyway) do NOT know the difference between a ‘community organizer’ and the leader of the most powerful national entity in the know universe!!!

They are not mutually exclusive.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. If we think Gaddafi is bad, just wait. More than likely his replacement will make Gaddafi look reasonable.

Barack Obama: The strange ideological, passive / aggressive, In-Your-Face-then-Run-Away President, whose life has always revolved around meeting after heated meeting, followed by his own inaction.
