I saw Fr. Pavone interviewed on FOX earlier today. Keep your eyes out for a replay of it!

He usually posts links at the Priests for Life website.

So it’s come to this: the vulnerable have to be spirited away “under cover of darkness” from The System, like Jews from the Nazis?

The Canada “Death Panels” - coming soon to a neighborhood near us - courtesy of Obama.

why do people keep repeating this miserable, defeatist dirge? The culture of death doesn't need to propagandize us with "the big lie," we do it ourselves.

be nice to see, on a "conservative" forum, more people saying, "over my dead f cking body!"

The parents discharged their child, against the advice of doctors at london medical. There is nothing more to it. The child has no brain function, he cannot survive. Torturing him further by performing a tracheotomy may extend his life, but does not extend his quality of life. Parents need to be able to make these decision themselves...I just think they are making the wrong decision...

A good point; alas the American people aren’t smart enough to figure out what they have done to themselves.

You appear to be a doctor in England?

I am not in doubt of the diagnosis, I DO object to the government making life and death decisions for this family. His parents accept he will die, his sister did indeed die of this same thing. They simply want to provide the loving care for him at home while the inevitable happens. Government health care insurance should NOT dictate to families how to live and die. It is insurance, help with medical bills. A trach is not that big a deal to allow them to let their baby come home to die in their loving arms.

I am sorry for your loss, but this is about getting out of this family’s face and letting them live out Baby Joseph’s days on this earth as they choose. You are absolutely right, there is nothing more to do, so get him home. The alternative is to kill him. I don’t believe in murder....just because he has a bad prognosis, doesn’t mean we kill him.

I don’t believe in a culture of death.....however, after two open heart surgeries my mother finally opted for Hospice. She was tired and feeling her age. When I took over her care she nearly died one very emotional night. After that the doctor and I had to work things out, the hospital interfered and tried to place her in a nursing home. Instead, I had to pitch a fit and get her released to me and hospice. After several months, she was improving. The hospice nurse and my family got her transferred to our hometown and into our own home. She was continuing to thrive and they kicked her right out of hospice. The second year, she became incontinent. It was a rough second year. Emotionally draining and exhausting. When hospice was called back it was only two weeks before she died.

My mother’s generation feared hospice....everyone they knew went into it and died right away. Culture of death fears prevailed. The nurses I found and the program as it worked for my mother was awesome. Sometimes you make mistakes. With my mother responsible for her own care on her own, she would most likely have died. As it turned out her short term memory was gone and she needed daily monitoring on her medications and that helped her managed her CHF effectively enough that hospice discharged her.

While there is a time to accept the inevitable, my personal experience has been good. Quality care at home is what hospice is all about.

There is a balance needed regarding death.....and I really don’t want to experience the kind of death panels in Canada that were so cold hearted and cruel as to put a family through what Baby Joseph’s family is going through. We should have some compassion.

We need to be vigilant that this does not happen here.....despite the passage of obamacaredeathpanel-style health care, we can still fight this here. It’s a shame we have so many fearful lemmings willing to give them the powers they will need over us. All in the name of the all mighty dollar. Sad state of affairs.
