Demand Congress dismantle Obamacare scam
The Morning Journal ^ | March 13, 2011 | Tom Skoch

Posted on 03/13/2011 3:26:03 PM PDT by opentalk

GOTCHA government is profoundly unAmerican, but it’s what we get from the Obama Administration and the previous Congress that, it turns out, rigged the health reform law to deny the will of the people. The current Congress must act to un-do this heinous feature of the massive health reform bill that has come to light only recently.

This past week, the conservative Heritage Foundation highlighted this scam recently uncovered by the Congressional Research Service. Here’s the dirty doing: Hidden quietly inside the 2,700-page bulk of the health reform bill, unspoken and unknown to virtually all of Congress was a stash of $105 billion of direct funding of Obamacare that completely bypasses the normal government funding process that Congress oversees.

When Congress creates a program, normally it authorizes spending for it in principle, and later, separately specifically appropriates the actual money to operate the program. Under our traditional system, a program that is no longer needed or which proves unwise can be killed off by Congress refusing to appropriate the funds to run it.

...But the $105 billion “slush fund” secretly stashed in the language of the Obamacare bill was granted directly to programs, outside the normal congressional appropriation process. That’s unprecedented, deceitful and dodges the will of voters who oppose Obamacare and those in Congress who oppose it. In essence, the Administration and congressional perpetrators of this scam silently rigged the system in order to keep Obamacare running against the will of voters and the subsequent Congress the voters elected to stop Obamacare.

... The funds in Obamacare are not budget projections but actual appropriations of money.

Obamacare goes far beyond any precedent for making appropriations for future years; it is an outrageous effort by the former Congress to bind the current and future congresses in this way.”

voting on a bill without reading it should be a crime.

at 2700+ pages, who the heck could read it in its entirety and understand every aspect of it to the degree necessary to give informed consent?

“$105 billion of direct funding of Obamacare that completely bypasses the normal government funding process that Congress oversees”

Yet Boehner continues to roll over for the very perpetrators of this unconstitutional monstrosity by agreeing to fund it through continuing resolutions. Talk about kicking the can down the road. If ever there was a reason to shut down the government this is it.

Right, so making it a crime to vote on a bill you haven’t read would preclude 2700-page bills.

From the article

. They rigged Obamacare specifically to thwart you from stopping it

Sums it up. We need protection from government. Boehner needs to step up.

“Just don’t think the pubs, with their current leadership have the nuts to pull the trigger.”

You’re right, and that’s why they need to be replaced. They talked a big game during the election but then went back to RINO business as usual. Time to clean House — again.

They will not. They have already capitulated and will end up raising taxes. They are collaborators with the Democrats and are simply trying to save a failed and doomed system they helped to create. Don’t be fooled again or you will end up in government housing like the blacks that trusted the Democrats.

Immediate removal, incarceration, and reparations are in order!

I faxed a letter to my new Tea Party Congressman, Steve Southerland (FL-2) this morning.

Near the end of it, I wrote, "If Obamacare is allowed to go forward, there will be little need for Congressman or Senators, save to clap their hands loud and long when Dear Leader demeans himself to address a joint session of Congress."

I’m not so sure that making it a crime is a good idea.

Voting on a bill you have not read, is bad practice, but criminal? I don’t think so.

However, the transactional immunity given lawmakers for bad policy decisions should be revisited.

Let them face the tort courts with the results of their foolish decisions. Show yourself harmed by Congresscritter X’s vote and take him to civil court and make him personally financially responsible.

I’m not so sure that that is a good idea either, but it’s somewhere in between criminal and immunity.

Waivers of the law to specific groups, seems unconstitutional. Lawless administration.

It’s criminal to vote on a bill you haven’t read.

If they cannot read the bill they are not fit for office.

The people who made America did not intend for legislators who did not read bills. They would have made it illegal to not read bills, but the idea would have been ridiculous.

2700-page bills are only that size as a TOOL OF OPPRESSION.
