Whats in your wallet?
Not much especially after a trip to the supermarket.
At the checkout counter at the DAgostino in Hells Kitchen, retired ballerina Carol Sumner shook her head over the increasingly steep price of her weekly grocery bill.
Its outrageous, said Sumner, a senior citizen who was making a pit stop to buy soda, ice cream and cake for a party she was throwing.
I feel like I am getting fleeced and taken advantage of. I dont buy meat anymore. I cant. Its too expensive.
The price index for groceries is expected to surge 3 to 4 percent nationally this year, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture.

Trickle down poverty!
When diesel fuel soars, so soar prices at the grocery store. We can thank Obama for being in the tank with enviro-terrorists and global warming financiers.
Though kooks warn different, drill here; drill now will lower prices, and the US can’t endure European level prices for fuel.
I work in New Jersey, and I can’t believe the difference. The same box of cereal that they sell in Manhattan for $5.89, I can get for $2 in New Jersey when it’s on sale, and $2.89 when it’s not.
Naturally, it’s not fun to lug home your groceries on the PATH train, but the saving make it worthwhile.
Obama voter. Welcome to the party “retired ballerina”.
All these douchebags VOTED for this inflation!
I feel like I am getting fleeced and taken advantage of. I dont buy meat anymore. I cant. Its too expensive.
-sure, its the supermarket’s fault, not the jack@ss and the policies you Manhattanites overwhelmingly voted for. The left, it’s never our fault.
(with apologies to the NY’ers who didn’t drink the cool-aid)
Is that sarcasm?
I thought it was only energy prices that would necessarily go up?
Yes, but the Commander in Qweef isn’t bright enough to know that food and every other product consumers purchase has to make it to market somehow, and if those transportation costs increase...
The O-hole is as about as sharp as a cue ball.
The three big things [causing increases] are energy prices, the growth of the Chinese and India market, and bad weather, said economist Martin Kohli, of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, referring to poor wheat-crop production in Russia and Australia.”
Uh, no. This is an apologist for the administration.
Number one is rising inflation, due to Obama’s destruction of the dollar.
Number two is rising gas prices, adding increased transportation cost to everything across the board.
Number three is the fact we are burning our corn for fuel, rather than eating it. This is driving up corn, which is a staple in things people never realize (corn syrup, etc.)
Also the increased regulations across the board, like the idiotic EPA saying spilled milk has to be treated legally like an oil spill.
The droughts and floods and increased use by China and India are not helping, but number one is INFLATION.
When Obama came to power, I told everyone I knew, by the time he leaves office, inflation will be off the charts. It’s classic Democratic legacy. It’s what happens when you punish your producers.
Screw the Ice cream makers. I refuse to buy it, when it went from a Half Gallon to 1.75 quarts and now they are 1.5 quarts.
(OBTW....driving on the way home from church, at the CVS a few miles from my house, the CVS street corner changeable sign reads "Allegra Is Here". I got blocked at the light to take a pic, but I'm gonna try later in the week if it's still there!!)
Grocery price increases across the nation???
Wait until you see the effects of HR2748/S.510/HR2751 FDA Food Takeover Bill passed in the Lame Duck Session. Passed the Senate with a “voice vote”, they did not want to be identified as voting for this mess. It was read into an unrelated bill (HR2751) when it went back to the House and then that passed the Senate again.
Cost of this? 1.4 billion dollars with 17,000 new “food inspectors” (most foreign based), paid for by “fees” on producers. Those fees will simply be passed on to consumers. Sold on the pretence of food safety against terrorist attacks.
Just wait....
I made some tuna fish sandwiches the other day for the first time in a long time.
Surprise! One can isn’t enough for a couple of sandwiches anymore. It’s all the way down to 5 oz. It used to be near 7, if I recall.
NY Fed to America: Let them eat iPads.
Let me tell you something, when it comes down to soda, ice cream and cake vs. meat, I'll have meat!
Obummer and Moochelle eat, drink, and party while America burns? And the Mochelle gets to show off her $1,000 tote bag and rub it in Amerika’s face.
