Just reported large aftershock, 7.2 about, around sendai area again.
Earthquake in its own right.
CNN live reporting it has been confirmed by japanese govt sources that fuel in unit 1 at fukushima (the one that had the explosion) has partially melted. They are still working to cool it.
Check out the design features of the pebble bed reactor,,, looks disaster proof to me.

Some people are born into faith. And it makes perfect logical sense to them until they get about 15 or so, and have to be re-born, which might take a couple years.
I did not realize that the newer reactors were so much safer. I can’t believe we have let the eco nuts run rampant all over us for so many years. As far as I’m concerned they have caused a lot more harm then good. They have just about wreaked our economy.

Oh my gosh that whole area is being shook but, good. There are two 6.5 right above Australia in the ocean. One on either end.

Dang it, I’m looking at that earthquake 3D map you can down load. I must have set it wrong. Now I don’t see the 2 above Australia that I had seen before. Maybe those were from the other day?
We are just southeast of the plant on the gulf of Mexico and definitely in the first evac zone.

Yes, this is the design that is virtually impossible to have go into a meltdown, specifically because of the design of the fuel and control spheres are. the guy explaining this design said it was almost impossible, so that’s why I was saying that. I suppose you can never say “never”.

0155: A strong earthquake occurred off Japan’s eastern coast at 0126 GMT today, the US Geological Survey confirms. It was closer to Tokyo than Friday’s quake. Buildings swayed in the capital, AP says.
