That's a nice business you got there. Pity if anything were to happen to it if, say, you didn't toe the line and denounce Governor Walker like we're asking nice-like.
"In the event that you cannot support this effort to save collective bargaining, please be advised that the undersigned will publicly and formally boycott the goods and services provided by your company."
Wisconsin Professional Police Association, Jim Palmer, at 608.273.3840.
Making a threat is a crime. I presume that in Wisconsin anyone making a threat can and should be prosecuted.
Unless, of course, this business of we being a “nation under laws” is a myth.
Unfortunately, it would only hurt the people who are FORCED to be Union Members, and there's no way to boycott GOVERNMENT UNION SERVICES, and they are the ONLY Union people affected (until they can opt-out).
Harris Bank of Chicago ... owned by BMO (Bank of Montreal) Financial Group, which is coincidentally headquartered in Toronto, not Montreal.
Probably more than you wanted to know.
We’re in line to get constitutional carry. Yes, they should move on that immediately.
** Probably more than you wanted to know. **
Not really:)
The bottom line is that those who claim to “protect and serve” are proving to be quite adept at threatening and bullying.
All the brown shirts bios. Mr. Palmer looks as much as a cop as Ronald McDonald does.

indeed, it's a world turned upside down
They don’t meet until Tuesday, but agreed.
Your logic is similar to the protesting thugs.
What threat? Is my saying that I'll no longer read childish posts like yours a threat? And if so, who determines it to be?
How often have you seen FReepers propose boycotts for one reason or another? Would you have them prosecuted?
Grow up.
Nice protection racket you got goin’ there, Jim.
All this union crap reminds me of the old, black and white gangster movies.
Exactly. Law enforcement is not a function of “Associations”.
Maybe Palmer’s got some beer muscle goin’ on.
Listen up, sonny boy. I’m old enough not to care what others think of me. That said, the grandfather in me looks kindly on those who resort to childish arguments.
The difference between proposing a boycott on FR and writing a letter to a business threatening a boycott should be, as my learned Calculus professor often remarked: “intuitive to the casual observer”. And when it comes from a police association, it becomes a threat. Direct vs. indirect - get it, sonny boy?
The beauty of FR is that we are free to say what we wish, without fear of punishment (except for trolls and profane posters). LIkewise, all of us are free to read posts - or ignore them. I will lose no sleep over whether you read my posts or not, sonny boy.
So, what is new about this? The whole purpose of unions is to threaten business.
