In his Friday press conference to discuss gas prices, President Obama was rather defensive, straining to counter the notion that his administration has been unfriendly to oil drilling, something most people would like to see a lot more of these days.
Where do people get that notion? Perhaps his Interior Department appealing a judges ruling that it act on several pending deepwater permits had something to with it.
Obama claimed repeatedly that he is not against drilling, then made the following comments:

Ken Salazar—doing to the nation what he did to western Colorado.
This is the fault of BUSH and those bastard crackers with their Bibles.
Obama is an idiot and a liar....unfortunately there is a high percentage of the population that are lemmings, also.
Obama’s blaming the oil companies with the same old reprocessed Nancy Pelosi bullshit of 2008-09 when she used it. I s’pose the Democrats forget they used that bullshit before, and just pick it back out of their sack of tricks, BS, and lies.
I wonder if they use gloves when they dig through that sack?
LOL!
Hey, it works for government borrowing, why not oil exploration as well?
What you really need, though, is for Obama to walk through the area, striking stones with his staff. Oil will simply flow from the rock.
He just lies, lies and lies.
Really, I don't think he thinks that they are at all realated. He seems to take everything personally, and so, from his POV, they are not drilling, because they want to make him look bad.
It will take generations to recover from this dufus.
This stupid SOB needs to get the US Navy in assistance in Japan NOW!
Stop blaming others for his ineptness.
Has anyone here read the Interior Department’s appeal? (I have.)
Can someone tell me what was wrong with BOMRE responding that the applications didn’t comply with the regulations and go through multiple rounds of correspondence in trying to get the complete information required?
If the problem is the regulations, then let’s focus on getting the regulations fixed. I don’t want to just tell the occupant of the White House that “we’re in favor of ignoring regulations, so go for it!” Is there a legitimate reason for these permit applications remaining incomplete? It’s not like the BOMRE ignored the applications or denied them...they left them open to be approved if they were completed.
Didn't David Axlerod just tell us today that Obummers skin was thicker now and he could take critism? Looks like there is more skin thickening to do.
The jig is up for this idiot. Everyone knows how the fuel prices are hurting them and that this regime has shut down production. Obummer made a big deal of it after the BP debacle. If he thinks this question is going away as we head into a campaign season, he is still smoking crack and doing poppers.

Maybe his BC is buried deep down in some oil bed.
WOO-HOO!!!
Looking at the bigger picture...what a concept!
This is an opportunity to go after the regulations that are holding things up, if that's what's right...but instead of taking this opportunity, so many pols and pundits are going to whine a bit--but not get the root cause back onto the table.
Without incentives, i.e., the potential for PROFIT, why would anybody bother to drill, if it takes as long as ten years to bring a potential well to production? The applications are INTENTIONALLY slow-walked through by the bureaucratic infrastructure, many with a hopeless animosity against all commercial activity, never mind that in the end, that is what funds their jobs and justifies their existence.
There are wells already in existence, from which the owners are not permitted to extract the known quantities still in the wells, as it may somehow “upset” the balance of nature, and only endless review will prevent that outcome. Now that is a kind of misplaced thrift, as oil unextracted is unavailable for the creation of further wealth, through that magic multiplier known as “capitalism” as the source of all productive employment.
Dream your dreams of spite and retribution against those who have “too much”. But it is the “too much” that funds the progress and growth of still more employment and plenty for everybody. THERE IS NO MAXIMUM LIMIT. The “too much” that is accumulated today forms the basis for new technological breakthroughs tomorrow, and physical growth of the pie to be divided up from time to time.
The goose that lays the golden egg cannot do so if it is strangled and eviscerated.
