A Bloomberg News poll released Thursday shows trouble for the potential presidential candidacy of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

A vast majority of respondents viewed Palin unfavorably. Sixty percent had an unfavorable view of Palin, compared with only 28 percent with a favorable one. President Obama had a personal favorability rating of 55 percent with 41 percent viewing him unfavorably.

Two other potential Republican candidates for the presidency, businessman Donald Trump and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, had low favorability ratings.

Trump was viewed favorably by 37 percent of respondents and unfavorably by 43 percent. Gingrich was viewed favorably by 28 percent and unfavorably by 40 percent.

"The people who don't like her have been repeatedly exposed to her, and talk about her. People have basically formed their opinions, there are lots of people out that that just find her viscerally annoying, and their minds are going to be extraordinarily hard to change."

Ridiculous. Two-thirds of the voting populace pay no attention to politics until a month before the election. The only people hearing about Palin (both pro and con) are those who follow politics steadily.

Pissant,

It’s obvius that these “polls” you love to site apparently showing low numbers for Palin, are more for you than us.

I knew right when I saw this posting (without looking at the name) it was from you. To site the lame polls that you do, tells me clearly you’re not comfortable in your present beliefs on Palin, and will find anything, from any source that validates your beliefs.

This is a sad sight to behold.

Just liberals picking the conservative/Republican nominee again. They did it last election and see what it got us?

Ron McRombeeani

I like Palin. She'd open the oil fields if she had a republican congress that would work with her. She'd do some whittling of the deficit. Probably axe the EPA having run afoul of them already.

She'd be better than any of the last pack we got to vote for.

But also keep in mind that the left and their willing accomplices in the press has done this kind of thing to every Republican contender since Eisenhower.

But the liberals are comeback kids, suave, sophisticated and almost holy.

I don't believe crap like this poll at all.

The poll internals will show a NY demographic plus special sauce. Guaranteed. If they didn’t fear her they wouldn’t pay her any mind at all.

pretty much. Palin should have enough to win the primary.

She’s famous. Republicans don’t pick unknowns. There are 10 or so plausibles and a lot of them aren’t running.

What a pathetic little deranged tool of the left you are.

We really want “1st Female President was Republican”. It’ll help Republicans with women for a long time, a hundred years? Palin is well known enough for 2012. Elizabeth Dole may be. Probably too old? I like Bachmann, but she’s just not well known enough to win in 2012.

Well known, attractive, really great speaker, believed to be acceptably conservative enough for all but pissant. The reasonable choice is Palin. I happen to prefer Ron Paul, but that’s just me. I like Palin and I like Ron Paul. And Mitt Magic Underwear Romney is completely unacceptable. Talk about someone who will be ripped to shreds. Something like Gingrich’s divorce situation is what the media has been trying and failing to find with Palin.

The media is trying to pretend that constant investigation, constantly trying and failing to find dirt on Palin is the same thing as actually finding dirt on Palin.

Bloomberg? nuff said.

Fallacious. You need to point out specific methodological problems. Attacking the messenger is the lazy (and invalid) way out.

This is truly a shock. A rigged Democrat poll shows that Democrats don’t like Republicans. Whodda thunk it?

Elderly lady, a serious and committed Democrat, called a talk show this AM.

She voiced the opinion that the Republicans were going to "fall over their own feet" in 2012.

As to why, she said that she had heard the list of candidates purportedly favored by the GOP leadership...and "not one of them scared" her.

She then listed the negatives that would cause each to fail, in her opinion. And re-asserted that "none of them scare me".

The host then said, "I didn't hear you mention Sarah Palin's name". The reply, "Your leadership doesn't think she can win."

"OK, but what do you think about her chances?"

"She frightens the heck out of me."

You can't be serious? Palin is all over. Her daughter was on DTWS. She is attacked on late-night talk shows. She is parodied on SNL and on TV shows.
