It doesn’t matter if you can understand the speech or not. The WSJ several years ago published one of his speeches without any comment and “there was no there there”. It consisted primarily of disconnected phrases but many of the phrases used a word that ended in -ation. And the next phrase ended in a word that ended in -ation. So they rhymed even if he had to make up the word.
It was very weird.

I don’t think that support from the cops will last; here in NJ a lot of cops & firemen lost their jobs so teachers could get raises with no concessions (their union is much stronger). Camden & Paterson (dangerous sh!tholes) laid off 1/3 of their cops; Jersey City & Newark also laid off a lot (but not as many proportionately). In the meantime, few teachers are being let go - mostly low-cost, young, un-tenured teachers.

Thank you for reminding me of April 1992. The riot started within moments Bradleys televised speech. It should be remembered as the Tom Bradley Riot instead of the Rodney King Riot.
