Rep. (D) Fred Clark: This bill will kill the middle class Sorry Clark. This bill will allow the middle class that are seeking a decent job finally get one after the over paid and entrenched union thugs leave the state.

It's clear the bill will pass and even clearer that this is all for "show" -- so the Democrat Socialists can say they're "fighting for working families."
Well, as Dennis Prager noted yesterday, let's evaluate the veracity of the claim: If only taxpayers had the right to vote, which side do you think would win?

Would someone please tell me why every news report calls these collective bargaining rights? It is not a right. I e-mailed a local radio station asking them to not use rights when referring to collective bargaining of public workers. What word should they be using instead? I refer to this concept as "collective bargaining privileges."
It is most certainly not a constitutional right.
It is not a "right" under the concept of natural law.
And even if one were to go by the (somewhat competing) concept of the social contract--which is perfectly legitimate to do; John Locke, whose words undergird the Declaration of Independence, had much to say on this subject--these rules must remain continually subject to re-examination, ad infinitum.

I loved the analogy about Chrysler coming back from the brink by Unions never giving up and saying they were broke, didn’t you?
Priceless!

I think UN does claim that collective bargaining is a right.

Sheesh Barca again. What is this, the democrat parade? Are the republicans going to be able to speak?
LOL! I was just thinking the same thing. When do we stop hearing these lies and start hearing facts again?
I have one good thing to say about Barca. At least he's wearing his orange union shirt like a vest, over his shirt and tie and under his suit jacket. :)

Here we have a Dem complaining about not knowing what is in the vote, when they have been in another state for almost 3 weeks!!
Incredible.

The unemployment rate is high nationwide. If these people think they have better places to go then they better start boxing up their belongings.

Now they are back to trying to say that a quorum wasn’t present. Jon Richards, mostly reading from pages. Quoting points of order.

Red shirt richards now.....this bill isn’t legal....they are going to the lawyers...

we need to take into account that the PUBLIC sector is ABSOLUTELY differnt than the private sector.
EXACTLY! While a private sector union's bargaining may destroy a business, a public sector union's bargaining can bankrupt states. The worst part of the public sector union is that their "bargaining" means getting more and more of MY money!
In essence, we are all, INVOLUNTARILY, paying union dues.

What was interesting was that he compared the number of people at his little confab who spoke in favor of the bill with the total number who attended. He provided no count on the number who attended and spoke against it.
