A Christian author and national speaker has just released a video in which he flays radio and TV commentator Glenn Beck as a pagan, New Age "anti-Christ" who is deluding many believers away from the Bible's teachings and leading them toward Eastern mysticism.

I am both. However, I am also an extreme skeptic when it comes to human psychology and motivation.
Beck's theology is gobbledygook, but God quite often places His message into the mouths of stutterers and jackasses, and I believe that is what he has done with Beck.
Do not in fact, know much about Mormonism and not pretending to know too much about anything here. But Jesus is known as 'Son' of God and as such; 'Jesus' was created/born of Mary etc. Jesus as 'Christ' (the Christ aspect
The Mormon Jesus was a created being, just as the devil was a created being.
Do not in fact, know much about Mormonism and not pretending to know too much about anything here. But Jesus is known as 'Son' of God and as such; 'Jesus' was created/born of Mary etc. Jesus as 'Christ' (the Christ aspect or Jesus's 'Christ personality'), manifests much later, and is another matter or, more to truth 'non matter'. . .)
(And no doubt, more to story(ies/unfolding; with which, I am not so familiar!)
Can’t fault your statement
Cheers

Jesus is co-eternal God. He assumed a human form, but was always God. This is just not what Mormons believe.
Suggest you read Frank Sheed's "Theology and Sanity" for a great discussion of the Trinity.
Am only saying. . .one has to think 'twice' and perhaps, beyond the words to the ideas that lie behind them. In that 'frame'; there remain similarities of thought; expressed a bit differently perhaps; between the idea of God/Man/Son. . .'created' etc.
The implications of the Trinity, notwithstanding; while we are not God; all of Creation, IS OF God (mind/body/spirit) as life unfolds from the One. . .'first' and in, and from the 'beginning'. That includes the Angels and Archangels (and Jesus as man if you will/and so believe) of which Lucifer was one - per story - and his fall precips, of course, that of Adam and Eve. Must have; after all; there was that snake in the Garden - repping 'evil' and/or knowledge; at least it's danger/threat.
Anyway; in this respect; evil is brother in that family; albeit, a wayward one, to Good. That 'brother' tells us evil is a part of our Creation family. If it were not; evil would not be recognizeable, no matter what form it took. (The very word, recognition; presumes a prior knowledge and so it is; we 're'cognize - re-know - that which we already know).
Evil at it's most horrific; always seems UNrecognizeable - words can fail us by description. . .until, we look further; and see - recognize a thread of humanity at work - albeit at it's worst.
Evil is not 'easily' recognized of course. It is not so easily ID as is the 'creature Devil', we have come to think of as Evil, personified, in a manner of speaking. He is almost a comedic figure, compared to genuine Evil at work in the world. And why, of course, real Evil so easily hides itself, by comparison. And of course, the Angels themselves were God's first works of innocence and art; so why would we not be so easily fooled.
Of course in all of this, remains a 'good' gone bad (a brother; gone wrong); but that evil-once-good; inhabits our world. It is, however, inferior to the Good; it once was. . (Interesting that Libs seem not to notice their inferiority but they survive, by depending on lies 'foretelling a good'; of course.) Evil; having given up 'good' must depend on the 'goodness' of others for it to get around and so again; reveals it's inferiority. Evil needs a good horse to ride. . .
Good,of course, does not need evil. Good will prevail eternally; and evil, will not...cannot.
Oh, too much; I digress; and I Thank You, for the book recommendation.
(In a way; Jesus served some of the same purpose;i.e.; giving God a 'face' so that mankind could 're-cognize' and remember, that from which we came. And realize ultimately, the purpose of Creation.)
And perhaps, by that MO; we can remember, on just what plane, Evil once resided; and how/why now; Evil exists as mankind's evil brother. And by that regard; was/is. . .at least, Jesus the 'man's' brother; albeit, not Jesus the Christ.
Anyway; not a Mormon; but do not hold it against them; what seems an irrational interpretation; given the rationality and irrationality of things believed by Faith alone.
And now. . .if you got this far; you can scream/sigh/lol. . if you have not already. . .
I get that! And my point was. . .while I 'see that' and have thought - on occasion that Beck is in danger of 'losing himself' or just 'losing it'; that still, this does not come under any blanket on same shelf as 'Antichrist'. . .That is the deep end of an altogether different MO. And this author, seems to want to test the waters. . .
As to Obama being the Antichrist. . .well, say that in a manner of speaking; but no question his MO, comes close; damn close.
O how you have fallen from heaven, you shining one, son of the dawn! How you have been cut down to the earth, you who were disabling the nations!
Real close MO here; and inasmuch as Obama himself; deliberately cultivates, what is his knowingly inauthentic 'aura' of messiahship; he does place himself in a direct 'Anti'- Christ line; if only in his imagination.
And we know there are 'those' out there' who do believe in fact, he is some version of the 'Second Coming'. . .if only a warm up act. . .
Well, think that a 'broad brush' that expands (and neutralizes, to some extent) what Howse is referencing here. Antichrist is heavy with meaning; when used 'in serious' against someone. You are saying; anyone not born again is 'anti-Christic' - period.
Have to say I put that ascription on same level those the Muslim make against those who do not believe in Koran; and so are reduced to being known as 'infidels' - and unequivocally so.
Do not believe all thought - pre born again - is anti-Christ in nature. No way would I accept that; save as an insult to God, perhaps.
To the contrary; believe we begin; as God's creation - metaphorically speaking - 'in the Garden'. That we rest in the 'good'; which is why; when we witness a heinous act; we first try to make ' Good sense' of what we see; believe to be unfolding. ("I thought a movie was being made; I cannot believe what I saw; I never imagined . ..etc. examples of evil stimulus and 'innocent' response). Resting in that good; we are torn from it daily. . .and often leave it by our own will and cognizance i.e. 'willful ignorance'. Faith restores us to that 'Good'.
IMHO; every deliverance from evil, IMHO;. . .is a born-again experience. But of course, there are more 'formalized' versions of this per Christian experience and acceptance - and Faith. And do not intend to diminish either per your own belief and/or experience.
Thanks; that makes two of us, I think. /sigh/lol. . .
It’s better than being alone!
Mel
Indeed. . .LOL.
I'm sure all of us come from different religous backrounds. I thought I knew about mormonism too, until a couple of months ago when I really started looking at what it was. They have VERY different beliefs.
The Mormon doctrine of God is not the same as the historic Christian view. It holds that God and man are essentially of the same species, and that God the Father has a body of flesh and bones. He is not uniquely self-existent, transcendent, or eternal. Neither is he truly the creator of all things, for he is one among potentially billions of Gods, and does not even have the ability to create matter.

Well are you “born again”?
Have you ever recieved Christ and Christ alone to save you?
Or are you still seeking the truth, and don’t know but maybe Christianity is it?
As for Beck, yeah he knows some history, a politics (and is sometimes right on these subjects), but I really don’t follow him..
That question wasn’t directed toward you since it’s obvious you are.
That question was directed toward Dr. Sheldon Cooper, since some of his remarks do seem contradictory.
I agree with you, by the way. I’ve even sent it to Christians who have “no problem” with Glenn Beck. I agree with your assesment (and even started to notice it when I was AT HIS ‘restoring honor’ rally.
Honestly I felt alone in that crowd (since most were going along, but I could sense-and God revealed to me something strange going on: Starting with Beck’s own ‘ecumenical’ statements).
SORRY, I just wish he had made it a policial even, not a false relgious event!
J.S.
However, reality is far larger than we can conceive, so I will seek until I die. It's my nature.
Friend sent me this - “The Lord moved me. God bless you Tina!”
Me - “What happened hun? I need good news right now. All this research is draining me but I feel compelled to search for the truth and tell others to wake them up politically and then Spiritually.”
Friend - “Not much just that the Lord, really, told me to give u a Hi”
Me - “Well thank you! I needed it and I'm glad you listened. Sometimes I feel like my posting aren't being looked at and I was just wondering if it's worth posting on here. I think he answered my question through you just now. God bless you and thank you!”
I'm posting this because I want people to know that miracles happen all around us and often we take them for granted. It might sound small to others but for me, right at that exact moment, for someone out of the blue to send that. God sent a brother to help me in a time of depression, frusteration and the feeling of worthlessness in what I was researching. I feel compelled by God to share this information. I pray people spend time to look at it. Keep watching Glenn to get the political news but PLEASE know there are hidden messages you don't see and be prepared by knowing what to look for. Please pray for Glenn's salvation for himself and his family. Also pray for his salvation so that he doesn't lead our Christian brothers and sisters astray, whether on purpose or not.
