Q. NPR BIAS? Was Ron Schiller's offense his harboring of demeaning views of Tea Party members, or his revelation of his views? If the former, aren't there lots of people within NPR who'd likewise need to be ushered out? If the latter, isn't NPR just protecting concealment of bias?
A. LISA SHEPARD : Hi there. Certainly he wasn't fired for harboring negative views about conservatives. it was the unprofessional manner that cost him his job. Who blabs to total strangers in public about their personal biases? Who doesn't vet a prospective donor before meeting. PBS got the same offer and turned it down.

"I hope you notice that I use NPR in the third person. I am independent. I have a contract. I will be leaving May 31. So it's hard to fire me for being honest."
In other words: It's you idiot tea baggers that have a problem, not us.
As you might imagine, I've gotten lots of phone calls from members of the Tea Party sharing their degrees.

Has any ombudsman ever said something like “yeah this place is a swamp and needs to be burned down and salted”? I can’t remember any ombudsman ever admitting that there is a serious problem here.

If the Ombudsman was doing her job, the racial problems would have surfaced before. It’s easy for the Ombudsman to distance herself now.
Can you believe the arrogance? We professionals are capable of controlling our biases when we generate the news but you peons obviously can’t be expected to consume it without distorting it with your petty biases.

I think we can all agree that this is true. It may be the last true fact in the interview. We all believe that nobody would ever be fired at NPR for simply harboring negative views about conservatives.
This is in distinction to Juan Williams who WAS fired for expressing negative views of certain Muslims.
Answer: Self-centered, snobbish, arrogant elitist minded Leftist/liberals who think they're going to get five million dollars from the Muslim Brotherhood. That's who. Hehhhh.

According to the Compost blurb, Lisa Shepard used to work as a reporter for the San Jose Mercury News. It is virtually impossible to work for the SJMN and not be a heavily biased liberal because the SJMN is a liberal rag which consistently publishes liberal biased reporting and opinion. This would have been self-evident to NPR when they contracted with Shepard to become the ombudsman.
