An (highly likely) illegal alien girl taking ski classes, looses control trying to avoid a downed skier and knocks down a four year old.

Any Mexican illegals in Vail would likely be found in food or custodial service or hospitality, not taking ski classes. Vail is expensive, and illegals are poor! LOL!

On the other hand, Vail is a favorite vacation spot for well-heeled Mexican tourists. According to the local rag, Latin American visitors account for ten or twelve percent of Vail's ski trade, and Mexicans make up the majority of the category.

A number of other people had the same reaction.  Tell me sage, please provide your proof that a Lefty family didn't bring along family friends on their vacation.  People do this sort of thing you know.

I would say it's about 90/10%, that you are correct, but you don't know for sure.  Until you do, I'm likely wrong here, but not proven so.

My comments along these lines were not meant to focus on the illegal immigrant 'problem' per se, but mearly to address the reason why the child requested the adult not be given jail time.  Why would the child take a pass on seeing the adult who jumped on top of her and hit her on her face with his fists, want to see him get off?  If you have an explanation for that other than the one I came up with, I'd love to hear it.

And why wouldn’t she want him arrested? Because she would have to testify in court, which would require her being identified for the court as an illegal immigrant, possibly causing her whole family grief.

Wrong again. According to this report, "Her father requested charges be filed against Filler, who was banned for life from Vail's six ski resorts."

No, I am not even wrong here once, until it can be proven conclusively that this girls family was definitely there on vacation.  Here is a report from UPI located here:  LINK

Perhaps the father was promised their legal status would not be used against them.  Perhaps that's why there are conflicting reports concerning the desire to see the book thrown at the perp.  Perhaps the family was a Mexican tourist family.  The FACT still remains that the 14 year old girl did not want the perp to get jail time.  That simply doesn't compute for me.  Something caused her to take a pass on seeing him get sent to jail.  Until someone offers up a better explanation than mine, I'm still at a loss for why the girl didn't want this guy to get jail time.  And frankly, so are you.

What if they did? It's quite possible the Kennedys or the Kerrys or the Edwards's have some Mexican friends. But it's also quite unlikely said friends are not rich enough to vacation in Vail on their own dime. Not all Mexicans are as rich as Carlos Slim, but quite a few have enough to throw around excess pesos in places like Vail. And rich American liberals certainly know the difference between pals and servants. When they're after the sheeple's vote, rich libtards like to yammer about two Americas and all that, but we don't call them limousine liberals because they actually hang out with the little people, do we?

And the fact remains the father did want the perp charged. And that blows out of the water any illegal immigrant theory.

As to why the girl wanted mercy for her assailant, who knows? Filler did apologize when he realized the true situation. Maybe she wasn't hurt as badly as reports suggest. Maybe she felt guilty about hitting Filler's four-year-old. Maybe it's that several months have passed, and she now feels he's been punished enough. Who knows? But it's 100% clear immigration law is not a factor!

IMHO, she made a correct and judicious decision. May she grow up to be President of Mexico!
