Teachers Union Big Wig Says It's Not About Kids, It's About Power!
Fox News ^ | February 23, 2011

National Education Association’s retiring top lawyer, Bob Chanin, speaking at the NEA’s annual meeting in July, 2009:

“Despite what some among us would like to believe it is not because of our creative ideas. It is not because of the merit of our positions. It is not because we care about children and it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power.”

Public schools have never been about building knowlege and giving students needed skills, but this is the first time such a thing has been admitted publicly in recent years. People need to stop using public schools.

With the Leftists...everything they say and do and fund is always about ‘the power’.

If they had a great vision of public school we would have great public schools. As it is the have great power and their teachers get paid regardless if the children learn or not.

“People need to stop using public schools.”

Amen! But it will never happen. For millions of parents, public schools are nothing more than tax funded babysitting services, and they could care less about the education their children are receiving. For millions more, there is little choice but use public schools, even though they want their kids to have good educations. Those parents need to take responsibility for their kid’s education by helping them with their homework, getting tutors through tax funded tutoring services, sitting in on classes, meeting with teachers, getting together with other parents who want better educations for their children.... Form their own unions, and represent the good teachers.

But if possible, home school.

The real reason for this problem is that nearly all parents had the same school experience and so did everyone they know. As a result, it never occured to them that educating young people could be done in any other way.

My daughter was home schooled. And a honors graduate in 2004 of a small private college.

She has the wonderful (and apparently rare) ability to think for herself.

As she grew up I told her to always remember three things:

1)A person without honor is no one. Loyalty and trust must be given and received when earned.

2) Always think for yourself. You don’t need others to explain things and tell you what to believe.

3) Follow the money. If you know who stands to benefit from anything, it isn’t difficult to sort out what is going on.

The NEA has been using brainwashing and propaganda in our public schools to turn our children into Liberals. Anyone who doubts that statement, please use the Freedom of Information Act to obtain the curriculum, textbooks, and paperwork in any public school in this country. Read it thoroughly and you will be sickened at the obvious proof of what they’ve been doing for the past 40 years or more.

"What do you want Ellsworth ?"

"Power, Petey. I want to rule. Like my spiritual predecessors. But I’m luckier than they were. I inherited the fruit of their efforts and I shall be the one who’ll see the great dream made real. I see it all around me today. I recognise it. I don’t like it. I didn’t expect to like it. Enjoyment is not my destiny. I shall find such satisfaction as my capacity permits. I shall rule."

"Whom...?"

"You. The world. It’s only a matter of discovering the lever. If you learn how to rule one single man’s soul, you can get the rest of mankind. It’s the soul, Peter, the soul. Not whips or swords or fire or guns. That’s why the Caesars, the Attilas, the Napoleons were fools and did not last. We will. The soul, Peter, is that which can’t be ruled. It must be broken. Drive a wedge in, get your fingers on it – and the man is yours. Its making all necks ready for the same yoke"

-Ellsworth Monckton Toohey to Peter Keating in "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand

The soul, Peter, is that which can’t be ruled. It must be broken.( Ayn Rand) ( From Emperor Palpatine's post)

Isn't it now evident that the entire purpose and existence of government schooling is to break the soul of the child?

So?...At what point do Christian and conservative government teachers finally come to the realization that the government indoctrination camps must be abandoned and shut down. And...That they, as conservative and Christian teachers, can NO LONGER participate and cooperate in the breaking of children's souls?

Let me give two extreme examples:

1)Should a Christian and conservative have accepted a position as a guard in a Nazi or Pol Pot concentration camp? Should he have said, "Well, I am a good Christian and conservative influence there and can occasionally sneak a few crumbs of bread to the prisoners."?

NO! Of Course not! The only valid and moral action would be to join the resistance and work for the complete freedom of the prisoners and the total shut down of the concentration camps.

2) Should a conservative and Christian accept a position as slave overseer? Hm? Should he say, "It's better that I take the position of slave overseer since, if I leave, someone far worse will take my place?

Again, NO! The appropriate and moral action would be to do everything in one's power to help the slave escape and to organize an underground railroad. The Christian and conservative action would be to work with all one's might and strength to SHUT DOWN the slave trade!

Christian and conservative teachers it is TIME TO GET STUDENTS ***OUT** OF THE GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS!

IT IS TIME TO SHUT THESE PITS OF "SOUL BREAKING" DEPRAVITY DOWN!

IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO LEAVE!

IT IS TIME TO ORGANIZE A RESISTENCE and ALTERNATIVE EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS!

Yeah! I am shouting, jumping up and down, and having a fit.

The parents who do the above are **afterschooling**!

It takes more work, time, and energy to afterschool than it does to simply homeschool. And...The results of afterschooling are more uncertain than if the child were properly homeschooled from the beginning.
