WASHINGTON – National Public Radio President and CEO Vivian Schiller is not saying whether she offered to quit or was forced out by the organization's board of directions. Schiller told The Associated Press on Wednesday that she resigned after a discussion with the board. She stepped down a day after a conservative activist posted a video showing an NPR executive calling tea party Republicans xenophobic and racist.

They have exposed themselves over and over that they could not be more elitist, racist, bigoted, and biased.
They LOVE every horrible thing in society, and yet, at the same time, hate anything related to America, American tradition, or Christianity. In brief, they're freakin' traitors. Clear and simple. There is just no other way to put it. Why would they not be? And yet, they will still get our money. Just watch.
This thing, whatever it is, that OUR government has evolved into, has no sense of justice or morals or even just common sense. They are like some out-of-control monster. They just do what they want with no sense of Law or Control.
It is time these Imperial nitwits need a sever dose of ‘reality’. Which is what we peasants have to deal with every day.
I would be more surprised than anyone if they do not get paid by US.
Maybe she's not saying, but anyone with half a brain doesn't need to get that answer from her.
The fact that she's leaving at all, or that she's even responding, in public, to this incident, is remarkable in itself. In the past, NPR would have simply ignored this story, responded with some sort of "no comment" statement, and moved on.
They must be really, really nervous at NPR. And now, this... it must be driving them right up the wall. To have two of their own taken out by a conservative hoaxter.
If it weren't for the recent hoax attack on Scott Walker, NPR's management would be taking legal action against James O'Keefe, and calling for congressional hearings into his activities, and those of any organization with which he is involved. Thanks to the Ian Murphy call, they can't say boo against O'Keefe, at least right now. As time passes, look for them to try to re-write the history by omission.
Also, I would expect Schiller to return by the back door once this dies down. She'll be named to the CPB board of directors, or placed in charge of one of the big PBS operations in Boston, or LA, or NYC.

The video was posted Tuesday by James O’Keefe, the same activist whose undercover videos have targeted other groups opposed by conservatives, like the community organizing group ACORN and Planned Parenthood.

The NPR executive caught on video bashing the Tea Party and saying that NPR didn’t need federal funding will not be heading to the Aspen Institute. Ron Schiller had been scheduled to start his new position as direct of the Aspen Institute Arts Program and Harman-Eisner Artist-in-Residence April 1, according to a glowing press release distributed last week.

Uh....I was going to issue a mild correction since IIRC, “xenophobia” means `irrational fear of foreigners or the foreign’ and is usually used by liberals against conservatives whom they see as bigoted toward illegal aliens, Muslims, `people who are different from us’, etc.
But instead I think you’ve hit on something. I listened to that tape and was reminded that to liberals, anything outside their own narrow world or frame of reference in terms of ideology or beliefs is in fact alien and hostile and foreign to them. So in that sense, NPR liberals really are xenophobes, no doubt about it. Congrats!
But then take note of how the Schiller people find nothing at all alien and hostile about two Islamofascists advancing their goal of imposing Shar’iah law on the world which the actors clearly stated at the beginning of their lunch together. They got along rather famously, on the videotape.
But Schiller & Schiller would recoil in disgust and revulsion if introduced to a Tea Partyer. No doubt.

I am saying this with certainty for all of us.
There is nothing that will crush a man or an organization or a philosophy more harsh than Pride, Hubris, and Arrogance.
But, of course, the Left doesn't suffer from any of these. So, they are probably in the clear.
