NPR's CEO and president, Vivian Schiller, has been forced to resign, the radio broadcaster's media correspondent said Wednesday, following an undercover sting in which a senior executive was videotaped describing Tea Party members as "racist." On Tuesday, Schiller had condemned the comments by Ron Schiller (no relation) — NPR Foundation's senior vice president for fundraising at the time — that were secretly filmed by political activist James O'Keefe of "Project Veritas."
But a Wednesday statement from the chairman of NPR's board of directors, Dave Edwards, said the board had accepted Vivian Schiller's resignation "with deep regret." It was effective immediately...
Joyce Slocum, SVP of legal affairs and general counsel, was appointed as interim CEO.
While the statement said Vivian Schiller had resigned, David Folkenflik, NPR's media correspondent, said in messages on Twitterthat she had been forced to do so.
"The board for NPR NEWS has just ousted CEO Vivian Schiller in the wake of video sting by conservative activist of a top exec," he said, repeating the message for emphasis...

He was on Fox News last night gloating and so was I. He stuck it to them good and said NPR should be defunded.
Hold on, give Fox a day or so to hire her.
NPR should be toast now with any more Federal (OUR MONEY) Funding. So come on House GOP, get some gonads and get out that Budget Axe.

Vivian Schiller just tweeted: “I’m hopeful that my departure from NPR will have the intended effect of easing the defunding pressure.” Yeah, right.
To a crackpot lib anti-racism is nothing but an excuse to attack whites.
With this header, the implication is that the dismissals have occurred because the pesky tea party people caused them. So the spin begins.
These people haven't had to step down because they're calling the tea parties racist, all leftists have been doing that. No, I have two words for you why they're having to step down, "Muslim" and "Brotherhood".
Notice no mention at all of those words in the column.

You seemed to have missed the whole point of Juan’s unjust firing....
I can see the political angle here, though. Given the recent comments by NPR leadership about "no bias," and the congressional pressure about funding.
I guess she's just the one they elected to catch the spear.

Could be she’s the one who hired Mr. Schiller or was influential in his hiring (although he is no relation). He went to work for them in 2009. She took over in January, 2009.
