Well.. get this... Our Socialistic Governor met with Mr. Obama recently. Our governor has agreed that Arkansas will be the first state to implement Obamacare. Mr. Beebe announced this to the leadership at the Capitol yesterday. He will be changing Medicare by his own power, very likely in April or May. He is clearly on the side of the Socialist. After learning this Mr. Garner will not be presenting his capital gains tax bill tomorrow.
I’ve been considering OK. But aren’t tornados a big problem? What are the drawbacks? Crime? Taxes?
When does Dweebe’s term end?
Could be. Of course, it’s not unusual for a southern state to tend Republican in federal elections and Democrat in state elections. My old home state of North Carolina is certainly like that.
Also, Beebe seems to have been successful in portraying himself as a tax-cutting centrist. His support for Obamacare was rather muted last year, but now that he’s been elected to his lame duck term, he’s free to show his true colors.
We already have a test for ObamaCare. A very unsuccessful one. It’s called Massachusetts.
The people of this country should also realize we have a tried and true method of dealing with oppressive, despotic rulers that refuse to listen to us. And it would work again.
We have been astounded at how well they warn for storms. We always joke that they track them so well in OKC, that we get told on tv that at 6:02 it will be over Rich and Teri’s house. My sister has lived her for 40 years and she dealt with one. We have them all over the country, just have a shelter here.
The economy has about a 6% unemployment and the housing has pretty much held, but they are expecting a 5% bump this year. We live in Edmond. Lots of trees and the people hold doors for you and teenaged kids tell us “my mama will whup me if I don’t call you Ma’am”.
ACLU tried to make them take down a huge cross and I guess they got run out of town. Cross still stands 50 feet in the air.
Oklahoma is great! I grew up there. I’m now in Arkansas.
Don’t worry about tornadoes! Most Okies have never even seen one. I grew up wanting to be a meteorologist and would have loved to see one, and I only got close to seeing one once. Now earthquakes really scare me, but twisters? Nah.
Oklahomans are the nicest people around. You will love it.
Can anyone recommend Tennessee? I will either be heading back to Oklahoma or east to Tennessee.
I will ditto on Edmond. We moved here to Arkansas from there (LONG STORY). Edmond is a great town, lots of opportunity and good people and good churches.
>>>>It destroys the state independence.<<<<
We lost State independence a long time ago. 1860’s I believe.
I’m from LA. I’m out of the country atm but moving back in May. LA is not without its share of problems, going all the way back to Huey Long. Nothing but a long line of corrupt politicians (Edwin Edwards, Blanche, etc). Remember what the superdome looked like after Katrina? LA is a welfare state.
(that said, I still love the place, but I just hate the politics here). You’ll find sleazy liberal-minded pond scum in every state.

there are no good democrats.....there used to be....but no longer....
So stat-ized healthcare is just fine with you? Are you a paid Romney operative?
Mike Beebe doesn’t care what you think. He just got re-elected with 64.4% of the vote.
I have been advocating State Nullification for some years now before anyone gave it a thought, much less promoted it or even mentioned the word. I got few replys when advocating States' rights. Everyone was about politicians. I knew, as many did, that DC politicians would never be the answer, although the TEA Party has helped more than I believed they could - my bad.
Google my FR handle + state + nullification, and you should find many vanity articles I've written over the last years about this last way out of fedgov totalitarianism.
I've been watching. I've been hoping. I've been encouraging. We are long past States' Rights abuses to be tolerated any longer. I now repeat with vigor:
If we Constitutionalists don't win in the Executive Branch: STATE NULLIFICATION!
If we Constitutionalists don't win in the Legislative Branch: STATE NULLIFICATION!
If we Constitutionalists don't win in the Judiciary Branch: STATE NULLIFICATION!
Bottom line: States' Rights above all. That was the original intent. Why is it that such an uneducated person as I can read and understand what an amendment is to the original contract and how such amendments supersede such?
The 9th and 10th Amendments to the US Constitution supersede the related clauses in the body of the Constitution. Why are the below such a difficult words for all the Harvard/Yale law politicians to understand in contract law?
Merriam Webster:
su·per·sede
1 a : to cause to be set aside b : to force out of use as inferior
2 : to take the place or position of
3 : to displace in favor of another
"Contract Amendment is a document used to change one or more provisions of an existing contract or agreement as an alternative to preparing a new contract."
Sheesh, understand a Will and Last Testament? If so, as example: Your original Will says everything goes to your Son. Then you decide to give some to your Daughter, so you ADD an addendum or amendment (same thing - different legalese) to your Will that "supersedes" the original Will for your Son, and gives whatever to your Daughter. It is simple contract law and still in effect.
Yes, I know this has all been "massaged" by the USSC over the years (mostly the general welfare and commerce clauses), but that doesn't mean they were right. Need I really quote President Thomas Jefferson and his take on States' rights and the fedov/state contact agreements? Google it yourself, while thinking original intent as you read the historical records.
Hopefully, now that so many are on board about States' rights regarding Obamacare, maybe my posts with specifics regarding other un-Constitutional legislation will no longer be ignored.
I understand everyone has their pet projects and many on this board are about politicians, but myself and many others from the now defunct VetsCoR group were always about States' Rights. That is our future, and I am encouraged by what I'm seeing. So, I am going to be in everyone's face now that some people are waking up.
YOU HIRRBIRRY ROSER!....
...there fixed it for you!
Tennessee also what a joke that is Tenncare
Telephone Town Halls are a fraud. The pol stays on the phone while other people who you never hear on air SCREEN THE CALLS.
They allow a certain number of questions that appear to be our side, but are phrased such that they are weak and really just set ups for the pol with a ready canned (non-responsive) good sounding answer. The majority of the calls are suck ups.
Our FORMER Representative did that several times before the 2010 election which she LOST by 7 points.
MrInvisible - I_be_tc is right, OK is a great place to live. Got a call from a very dear friend who is a physician working in Little Rock and she is moving to OK in June. Two other physician friends are heading to TX. As far as tornadoes, just put in a storm cellar. We’ve had one for 15 years and have only had to use it twice. We’ve eliminated Louisiana at this point so will begin looking toward OK, too:)
Pastor Books - I have relatives in TN and they like it, but don’t know much about the state personally. Wardaddy can help you.
Apparently nor of yankee liberals/racists either. He won Vermont's electoral votes for president in both 1992 and 1996 elections.
That was obvious. I had statistics to share with the Senator re: why businesses don't locate in AR (taxes). I'm pretty sure that is why I didn't get the chance to speak.
The participants that did speak, well, one wants to legalize marijuana, one wants more money for roads, etc. I was surprised the caller that wanted to know why Ohaha jets around was allowed to speak.
I found the timing of the town hall quite interesting. Governor Beebe wants AR to take the lead on ObamaCare and the Senator decides to have a town hall at the same time. Senator Pryor was verbalizing his support for ObamaCare and at the same time he was saying Reblicans haven't offered any solutions for health care. I don't think it's just a mere coincidence. Arkansans don't want ObamaCare, but it looks like it will be shoved on us anyway. I have no doubt that Beebe will lose his position over this so the question becomes: Why is he doing it? All we can do at this point is vote with our feet.
