Most likely, the man will not kill his son's murderer. But, if people do agree to fund men who are willing to carry out punishment for this crime I believe some change may come. Pedophiles can not be cured. While I do not support the death penalty, I can understand a man's need to rid society of this type of predator. Anyway, I would certainly contribute to a legal defense fund for this man.

While I do not support the death penalty, I can understand a man's need to rid society of this type of predator. I am genuinely curious: how is it that you can be against the death penalty, while simultaneously being in favor of vigilante justice? I mean, think about it, the death penalty only imposed after a trial in which all of the available evidence is presented, whereas there's no trial in the case of vigilante justice except in the mind of the relative of the perp's victim.
Full disclosure - I am for the death penalty, but I also wouldn't blame the father in this case for carrying out his threat. The consistency in my belief is that murderers should pay a just price for their crime(s), and if society is too timid to do so, or so badly favors the criminal at the expense of the victim and of justice, then "other means" of ensuing justice are justifiable.
