The father of a 5-year-old boy killed in 1975 is vowing to murder his son's killer if the man is released, as scheduled, several years early from a 40-year sentence.
John Foreman said in an interview Monday with WPRO-AM radio that he will kill convicted murderer Michael Woodmansee "as aggressively and as painfully" as he killed his son if Woodmansee is released from prison early.
Woodmansee, who was 16 years old at the time, kidnapped and killed Jason Foreman in 1975 in South Kingstown, R.I. He confessed and was convicted of second-degree murder eight years later.
Jason Foreman was presumed to be missing until 1982, when Woodmansee tried to lure another boy into his home. The boy escaped and police began to question Woodmansee about Foreman's disappearance......

Wasn’t there a story some years back about a father who managed to empty his revolver into a released pedophile/murderer as he was walking out of jail? I think the perp killed his son.
Civilized people make a social contract with each other. They create governments and laws and agree to obey them. We all give up a little so we can prosper as a group.
One of the things we give up is vengeance. On one side the people agree not to seek private vengeance in exchange for a promise by our government to punish those that wrong us.
It was only a generation or so ago that a person accused of murder (kidnapping and even rape) was tried and if found guilty was executed in a very short time.
Recently it was reported that a man on death row in California died of old age waiting for all his appeals.
My question for those that put road blocks in the way of having justice done, what are you going to do when the people realize the social contract against vengeance has broken by those that care more for the criminal then their victim (or victim’s family).
Personally I prefer allowing the state to deal with finding justice but I can understand those that feel cheated.
“If Im on the jury, Id be saying to the other jurors Look, its POSSIBLE that the 200 witnesses who saw him shoot the guy in broad daylight are all mistaken. Maybe it was some guy who just looks like him who happens to have the same fingerprints and blood type. I think theres reasonable doubt here.”
Lol at that. If I were on the jury and considering the meaning of ‘reasonable doubt,’ I’d say that ‘reasonable’ more than makes up for whatever is lacking in ‘doubt.’
The only thing that he needs to do less of is talking. Otherwise, every other father out there must feel the same way.
Well, except for Michael Dukakis, who said during one of the '88 debates that he would've stood around with his thumb in some orifice while his wife was raped...and they never got around to asking a question about his kids. If the stupid tank commercial didn't end that race, this response did. But he's not normal, and the father in this case most definitely IS.
So, basically, if the judge and the prosecutor had actually been looking out for the victims and the public, instead of molly-coddling murderous pedophiles, this worthless piece of inhuman garbage COULD have started out having to 'good behavior' some time off of a 60 year sentence instead of just 40, and he would not be 'eligible for early realease' for another 11 or 12 years. And a LOT can happen in 11 or 12 years in prison.
Two interesting items in article:
1. The father allowed a plea bargain in order to keep the details of the death (murderer kept journal) from coming out.
2. For his own protection, Woodmansee served nearly all of the last 28 years of his sentence in prisons in Massachusetts instead of Rhode Island, but returned to the state last week, the newspaper said
The entire town should be lining up to offer the father pre-emptive alibis.
This animal should have been put down by the prison population years ago.
So, they moved him for his own protection. Why????? I was wondering why some inmate had not taken him out by this time. now, I know the answer. The stupid government put him into a “prisoner protection program”!!!!!
See my FReeper profile for a suggested alternative.
The sentence was entirely to lenient in the first place. This is why I support the death penalty. This guy should have been given a bullet to the head. He should have never been allowed to plea bargain down to second degree murder. It was clearly premeditated murder. The guy is clearly sick in the head. Probably what drove his good behavior was the desire to get out so he can get his hands on another innocent little boy.
I am genuinely curious: how is it that you can be against the death penalty, while simultaneously being in favor of vigilante justice? I mean, think about it, the death penalty only imposed after a trial in which all of the available evidence is presented, whereas there's no trial in the case of vigilante justice except in the mind of the relative of the perp's victim.
Full disclosure - I am for the death penalty, but I also wouldn't blame the father in this case for carrying out his threat. The consistency in my belief is that murderers should pay a just price for their crime(s), and if society is too timid to do so, or so badly favors the criminal at the expense of the victim and of justice, then "other means" of ensuing justice are justifiable.
I think Dads have to help each other out with these things...
Maybe he is just really clever. What better defense after the fact than, if I really planned to kill the guy, would I have announced it to the world first?
This POS would quietly disappear and end up at the bottom of an abandon strip mine silt pond with a nice belly full of concrete in him to weight him down in my neck of the woods. Although he would suffer considerably before he split hell wide open.
Can’t blame the Father now anybody could shoot the perp and the LEO’s are going after him first, however, A nice Car accident comes to mind.
I hope the father takes the following advice:
1. Rather than eat the flesh himself, just feed it to the pigs.
2. Kill the bastard in a friendly jurisdiction, just about anywhere in the South will do. Be sure to have your son’s picture run in the papers before your trial.
The journal mentioned cannibalism.
Basically I think that he put a contract out on the guy. If he doesn’t get him then some dad will.
Just hear me.
Every ugly, perverse, obscene, filthy, destructive, anti-God, anti-country, anti-family, anti-decentsy activity is celebrated, entertained and shouted from the roof tops. A father wants to do to a monster what the justice system will not and he needs to be quiet. I don't know how to say this exactly, but isn't time men threw caution to the wind, got damn man, and started doing something about the weak knee'd, limp wristed, ignoramuses that "rule" over us? They aren't even men, they aren't even armed...it drives me crazy.
