Of course Obama must go but that isn’t my main concern with these elections. Obama isn’t the problem, the Washington DC culture is the problem. Replacing him with another “inside the beltway” elite from either party and we still have the same mess. We need true outsiders going to Washington to begin to clean up the Elites’ mess.

Your thinking is part of the problem. Gingrich is culpable in the destruction of our free republic as much as anyone in Washington. Electing him changes nothing.

Newt can’t win. He has too much personal baggage. He’s also too old.

Newt is a political insider. We need a game changer in DC, a real leader in the tea party vein.

I do not have to, I can see for myself that Newt may not be the best choice. I said as much in my post.

The fact is that the John Birch Society is a crack pot outfit. They are not a legitimate place to find disagreement with Gingrich.

I happen to beleieve that virtualy any Republican would have and would be a better alternative to Obama.

Gingrich in particular would be a very good foil to Obama. He is sharp, well spoken, and has done major good works for the conservative movenment through his organizations. However, he would be a tough sell due tothe baggage both self made or that foisted upon him by the MSM.

Obama would be easy to beat is it whre not for the MSM. However, with all their still substantuial weight behind him, we need all participants in the Party pulling in the same drection to get him out of power.
I would crawl naked over brokemnn glass to votae for anybody that runs against Obama. Gingrich would probablty do 80 % good stuff while in office if he won.

The article at the link no longer bears much resemblance to what you posted. It’s now a rundown of all the major addresses at the event.

There’s still the line about the secular, socialist Left, but Newt’s way behind the curve on that. Weird how he picks up a toy of an idea others have been playing with for months and seems to think he invented it.

Newt is a loser and the last thing we need is him. The only game changing he does is to change wives and sides.

He’s amoral and serves hemlock while he sips tea. He’s a faker.

This picture is all it will take to beat Newt. It illustrates his complete lack of principle and his bad judgement.

Where is your /sarc tag. You can not be serious. I cannot vote for someone who married three times and had an affair with a staffer while he was married to his second wife. This is so sad that you find this guy Presidential. I won't vote for him. He has been married THREE times. He can't even talk about the sanctity of marriage.

Most people don't care that Newt's been married three times, per se.

What most people will care about is that Newt crusaded against Bill Clinton's indescretions while secretly doing the same thing. Most Americans remember Bill fondly, and exhuming this bit of history will recast Bill as more sympathetic a character, and Newt more villainous. No doubt the Clintons will spend every waking moment and every ounce of political capital they have to illustrate Newt as a skulking hypocrite. The actual conditions of Newt's indiscretions are dazzlingly unflattering, and he's never really had to account for them in the public arena. If he thinks that it's 'old news' he won't have to deal with 24/7 as a candidate, he's mistaken beyond measure.

Sorry, Newt, but between your personal hypocracies and your political hypocracies (which are many), you've exceeded your baggage allowance for this trip. You'll never achieve orbit under such weight. The left and the right will gun you down in the street of public opinion, and the middle will consider your bullet ridden body radioactive.

Any Newt supporters should take note. Largely speaking, the hard right won't back him because he's a sellout of his own ideals, the center right sees him as merely the lesser of two evils, and the soft right sees him as damaged goods that won't survive contact with the enemy. All three are correct, and that can't be squared successfully.

Unbelievable! I just checked — they completely changed the article, including the title.
