“Just wait til next year when microsoft has all windows type GUIs unified. Your phone, netbook, desktop, and xbox will all use similar and interchangeable and compatible operating systems. Then well see what phone OS rises to first place.”
Got some news for you...Android already does that from within windows.
I think what MS is aiming for is a phone that is your computer. when you want to use a desktop computer there will be a docking station that your phone plugs into and an auxillary mainboard and hardware will sync up with your phone to boost it’s capabilities. I don’t really see that happening with a linux based operating system on your phone, and a windows based operating system on everything else. But I could be wrong.
Yeah, and I've been doing something similar with Linux, rack mounted to hand-held. From the monster servers at work (think 64 core, memory pushing 200 GB), to my 5 year old desktop, to my netbook, to my Android based phone... The netbook and desktop are very, very similar, being Ubuntu desktop and netbook remix. But hey, if Windows wants to play catch up, that's fine.
