Linked is the full opinion written by pdf Justice Hugh Thompson. A defeat for Common Cause and the NAACP. And so ends years of nasty contentious fighting. All the arguments and posturing became as simple as this - from the opinion:
"Nor do we find the photo ID requirement to be an impermissible qualification on voting. The 2006 Act does not deprive any Georgia voter from casting a ballot in any election. A registered voter who does not possess a photo ID and who desires to vote in person can obtain a free photo ID at one or more locations in the county of his or her residence."
Here is Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes complaining about the law upheld today and other government issued photo identification laws and their "intercession with race" and affect on "people who traditionally face barriers to the polls." She concludes, "that's what I'd call the denial of the right to vote."
The liberals may have a hissy fit about this. They claim that requiring an ID to vote is an impediment to voting.
The liberals don’t complain about showing an ID to use a credit card or get on an airplane. But they do complain about showing an ID to vote. Go figure............
There is only one reason anyone would oppose a voter ID requirement: they want it to be as difficult as possible to prevent voter fraud.
So there is a limit to what good people will take from the radicals.
Now, let’s get rid of third party and same day registration.
Looking forward to Texas having a similar law passed/signed by Gov. Perry in the near future.
I'll give em that one, it definitely impedes fraudulent voting. LOL!
I love to hear them screaming about this. :)

Probably won’t happen in every state. Sure won’t happen here in California anytime soon. That said, if it becomes law in enough states, it will effectively block the RAT/Union cabal from stealing the national elections. With the way things are today, locking up fifty Electoral Votes would be enough.

And mail in ballots...
If requiring an ID to vote infringes the right to vote, then requiring a permit (or registration) to own or carry a gun infringes the right to keep and bear arms. And the requirement to carry a valid driver’s license in order to operate a motor vehicle infringes the right to travel. Requiring photo ID to board a plane violates the right to travel. Requiring a permit to hold a rally in the public square violates the right to peaceably assemble. Requiring a broadcast license to transmit radio/TV signals violates the right to free speech, and so on and so forth...
they need to add your finger print so you can only vote once!
Very good point
Let’s also get rid of registration on line and through the mail. Such idiocy.
Photo ID is worth about a 5 point swing against Democrats, as it makes it very hard for people to game the system...it’s no surprise that they are up in arms. After all, they might have to compete on ideas, for once.
Ping!
