Warner Bros. Television says it has fired Charlie Sheen from the hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men." The studio that produces the CBS series said the decision was made after "careful consideration." Sheen's erratic personal life had prompted Warner to suspend production on the show for the season, and Sheen in return had been waging an angry media campaign against the show's producers.

Well, yea. It’s not hard to play a character that is basically, yourself. No question he nailed it.
Dunno. He tweeted it (according to the real-time report on FNC), complete with the first name...but damned if I know which was which (nor do I really care, frankly).
Just have to cut back on those eight balls!
The show was as smutty a piece of garbage that was ever on ... America is better off without it.
The country is going down the tubes, the middle east is on fire, the Democrats continue to loot the treasury and this is our entertainment (Distraction)?
The obligatory "I'm more serious and worthy than the rest" post, which usually includes "Bread and Circuses" reference in order to add the "I'm well read also" sentiment.
She sure was back in college.
But isn't this standard behavior in Hollywood? What makes him more of a derelict than the rest of the bums out there?
Well, I don’t really agree. I think there are a ton of guys that could handle that part. I’m probably coming down on him because I dislike the whole “Look at me...I want attention” thing he has going on.
I am interested in your HDTV antenna. You say you get 36 channels, which ones (I am in the Seattle area)? I would love to get rid of my cable bill. I keep seeing Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit recommend this ROKU box, but I would need something for local stuff. I’m interested in whether you can get Mariner games on your antenna.
Has Cryer said anything about this? It’s his meal ticket, too. Although for some reason he makes HALF of Sheen’s salary. I wonder if they are friends, because you’d think he would issue some kind of statement “hoping Charlie will get through this OK”, or words to that effect.
That would make for happy holidays around the “Sheen/Estevez” family table. :)
I thought the show and Sheen were actually good too.
I watched some new episodes and reruns interspersed. In my opinion, the reruns’ comedy had a bit more spice. The episode with Costello and Penn come to mind. But it’s very good versus excellent.
They should have kept Sheen, tolerated his off camera outbursts, and fed the outbursts and behavior right back into the scripts using a scriptwriting equivalent of a feedback loop. In the scripts, they don’t need to stop at two heavenly angels. Why not four heavenly angels, and two of them have the clap or genital warts and two don’t, and get in a big argument about it (it could also serve as improvised sex education too)? The Sheen character was underutilized. They could copy his offscreen persona into the script and throw it under the bus every week, essentially forever, by portraying him as a human dungbeetle ball.
Heck, I would write and act in it for a 20% break in the salary and perks that he was getting...
I’m pretty sure Randy Quaid would be the perfect replacement for Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. However, the producers would have to truck up to Canada to fetch Quaid, convincing him that they’d paid the Hollywood Star Whackers to back off, and that as long as he stayed on the show he’d be safe.
Good questions for which I don’t know the answers.
